Lidl Inferno Pizza

Recommended Posts

Hmm. I looked at that, and like the poster above, assumed it was going to be "supermarket hot", which is not hot. Instead I opted for the chilli and chocolate curry and it was absolutely rancid. I made a fatal error in my microwaveable curry choice.

That does sound horrendous.

Just had one of these after buying one earlier.

Pretty good - not as spicy as I was thinking/hoping but definitely had a good kick to it.

Off the specific topic but I had an Asda 'scorching hot' vindaloo (from their chilled 'takeaway' counter bit). Was just a notch below inedible. Well hotter than the Lidl pizza IMO.

Intrigued by this. Had Pataks Phall the other week and to be honest I was underwhelmed by it. The usual Madras that I get from the Himalaya in Perth is hotter than this stuff was. Nice enough but I wouldn't say it should be called Phall.

Agree with this. I tried the Patak Phall. It was ok but not noticably hot.

Just got a jar of ASDA's own vindaloo and had it there. Not really hot but actually pretty good for own brand gear. Cooked up some onions in olive oil before putting the sauce in then used tuna steak in it. Tastier than some of the much pricier Pataks stuff. Will need to get this "scorching hot" gear next time.

Made a detour to Asda there for the purpose of getting one of these vindaloo efforts, but both the takeaway bit (i.e. the bit where you buy the chicken and sauce in a tupperware dish and the rice separate) and the ready meal bit didn't have it- nor was there a price sign that it had been there but sold out. sad.gif

Had to console myself with a 3 chilli and chorizo pizza, which is marked "extra hot" on the box. In the oven now, will report back.

edit: pizza din't even register, had to pour scotch bonnet sauce on it to give it a kick. I am disappoint.

In the oven as I type. The guy in Lidl kept asking me questions to make sure I knew what I was buying and how hot it was. No word of a lie. This has increased the anticipation. Fucking bring it.

I had one of these sitting in my freezer and told my mum not to touch it for her own safety. What I forgot to do was to inform my step-dad to stay clear. I wasn't in the house when he attempted to eat it, but there was three quarters sitting in the fridge, a quarter with one bite out of it sitting on the table and his face was bright red and he was coughing. He said he tried it about fifteen minutes before I came in.

That's what you deserve when you steal my food, dick.

I had one. It was reasonably hot, but nothing outrageous.

Was very stodgy imo. Probably wouldn't buy again for that reason.

When I was staying at my folks I'd stocked up on stuff from Lupe Pintos including the Blair's Death rain XXX Habanero crisps. Went out one Friday night, came back in and they were gone. Noticed lots of them lying on the kitchen floor. Transpired my old man had came in pished before me and tried to eat a packet, but they were too hot for him.

Anyway, managed to get a hold of the Asda scorching vindaloo and I would certainly say it's hotter than the inferno pizza, but I didn't find it inedible. I cooked up some peppers and mushrooms, microwaved the curry, then mixed them together to pad it out a bit. Had what was effectively a 2 person portion, had to get a glass of milk to see it through but definitely the hottest supermarket curry I've tasted. Hottest thing ever remains the curry hell dish I referred to earlier and suffered by two annoying twats below

I was in Lidl on Sunday morning for some of their freshly baked pretzels and I had a swatch at this mythical pizza.

Nah.

After taking inspiration from this thread, I had the pizza this evening. It was very hot, but I really enjoyed it. The last slice was a real struggle though! A few ice cold Stella's were required to finish it off.

8/10

I have it on good authority that Lidl have discontinued this pizza, I haven't seen them for months but there will still selling different ones from the same brand, I hoped they had just run out of stock each time. Sadly I have just read that Lidl have confirmed over the phone it has gone.
