1922/23 - Forfar, Peterhead

Never Played - Ross County, Annan

Having a look back it does seem a long time since we've played quite a few teams.

While checking these back we do seem to have a knack of drawing the same teams in the cups. In the last 5/6 years we've managed to play Berwick, Dunfermline, East Fife, Falkirk, Dundee, Alloa and Raith at least twice!

The Forfar one is extraordinary - but then considering they always appear to mysteriously draw Rangers in cup competitions whenever they get far enough in these knockout contests to draw a Premier side perhaps not so much!

;)

2007-08- Gretna, East Fife

2006-07- Stenhousemuir

2005-06- Dundee, Forfar, Stranraer, QoS, Clyde, Airdrie,

2004-05- Raith, Partick

2003-04- Queens Park, Berwick

2002-03- Arbroath

2001-02- Stirling

1999-00- Livingston

1992-93- Cowdenbeath

1980-81- Albion Rovers

1922-23- Elgin

Never- Annan

Think that is everyone- ones in bold have played us at Greenhill Road but seems we have played just about everyone fairly recently given we've spent time in SPL and D1. Livi were the surprising ones but we got relegated from the SPL as they were promoted and then they got relegated the year we go promoted-only played them in one season so 4 times! Albion Rovers is really the longest of the established league teams.

Cheers for updating the list GS. Now its Peterhead who we have gone the longest time since our last competitive meeting. 10th Feb 1923 (as opposed to 13th Jan 1923 for Forfar) was our last game with them - is that the longest gap in Scotland. Close to 89 years?

Now we just need Peterhead to beat Celtic and we can play them in the next round cool.gif

Why have you put them in chronological order apart from the first two?

Eh? Am I being whooshed here? Are you referring to SD's post?

It's all chronological as far as I can see. Of the current sides in the national set-up, It's longest since we've played Celtic and least time since we've played Albion Rovers. We've never played Annan competitively though, placing them more distant than even Celtic.

I am being whooshed, amn't I?

We're either both being whooshed or he's glanced at it and read the Celtic one as '99 instead of '90 and thinks it's the wrong order compared to Hearts.

No I misread it, and thought that Hearts were 89 and not 99.

ETA: I read the list TWICE to make sure I wasn't mistaken!
