I think the last time we out and out unequivocably "sacked" a manager was in January 1999 when Rowan Alexander was sacked. Since then: Ken Eadie and George Rowe as co managers had their contracts allowed to expire by mutual consent in May 2000 and John Connolly was appointed. Connolly then lasted until he resigned in May 2004 to take the St Johnstone job. Iain Scott was in all realistic terms "sacked" in October 2005 when we were bottom of the first division but the published line was "mutual consent". Likewise when Ian McCall left in April 2007. Gordon Chisholm was then headhunted by Dundee in March 2010 and replaced by Kennny Brannigan who, like Rowe & Eadie before him, simply had his contract allowed to expire and not renewed in May 2011. I think in practice Gus MacPherson was sacked in Aptil 2012 following relegation though again he said he was resigning anyway and it wasn't utterly clear who made the first move at least publicly. It would be fairer to say who has gone longest without a manager leaving apart from directly to another management job for which he was headhunted? So for the last manager Falkirk sacked you would have to go back to December 1996 for the dismissal of Eamonn Bannon. Woo Hoo, the internet is back! No broadband for two whole days is murder! And no, McCall wasn't head hunted. He fell into the Thistle job within a month or so I think but he and Mr Rae had a parting of ways. They do not appear to have named any caretaker at the moment. I've been on holiday but I don't think I've missed any other changes have I? I realise Kenny Shiels position is tenuous at the moment but he remains officially in situ.
