Cockwomble not only fucks it up starting a new league without a sponsor, when he eventually gets one he pretends that the country has gone back a season when now the leaves are starting to fall.

IRN-BRU and the Scottish Professional Football League (SPFL) have agreed the biggest signing of the summer as the nation’s favourite soft drink is today (Thursday 3 October) announced as the Official Soft Drink of the SPFL.

The SPFL have their finger on the pulse. Send them a memo telling them it's Autumn.

I see they've managed to get the SFL's sponsor.

Another one from the BBC. On the Championship page, in the "Team by Team" section, it reads -

So the most important Championship news at Alloa, Cowdenbeath, Dumbarton, Hamilton, QotS and Raith is that Rangers and Airdrie (two league 1 sides) are playing each other in the cup.

Something repeated on their main page which reads -

Wish the BBC would take it's tongue out of Sevco's arse

You do realise it's a story on each of those club's news pages because they are in the Scottish Cup draw, yes? And given that it links to the story it picks up the same headline for everyone. That Rangers are drawn at home to Airdrie is undoubtedly the headline news of the second round draw so there's nothing wrong with the headline itself.

There are enough ludicrous errors to pick apart on the BBC's Scottish football coverage, indeed its football coverage in general, without focusing on parts that aren't really wrong.

Today's Sunday Mail somehow managed to turn Petershill v Forth Wanderers into Petershill v Fort William. I know the guy who phones in the report so I know the mistake wasn't at his end, some sub on the Mail sports desk who has no clue.

Spotted another though in the report of the Stranraer game.

"Stranraer boss Stevie Aitken was thrilled after a penalty from namesake Chris made it 4 games unbeaten for the Blues"

Namesake? It's his wee brother FFS! :D

Davie McGurn is looking an awful lot like Brian Reid these days...

I mean FFS, didn't the initials BR on his shirt set any alarm bells ringing?

The link to Stuart McCall's post-match comments on the BBC Scottish Premiership page says: 'Manager Stuart McCall wants Motherwell to banish the memory of a lacklustre loss to St Johnstone when they face Morton in a League Cup quarter-final.'

Considering that they managed to get it right in saying Aberdeen in the report, that's just sloppy.

Don't know if they mean Scott Fox, Jamie MacDonald or the actor Jamie Foxx.

Scotland manager Gordon Strachan speaks ahead of the International friendly against USA on Friday and say's the recent form of Partick Thistle keeper Jamie Fox has earned him a call-up to the squad.
