A shocker from a very badly written match report in the Scotsman:

Progress to the quarter-finals looked unlikely for Ayr, however, when they fell behind after just six minutes. Teenager Craig Sibbald’s cut-back to Willie Gibson was swept across the field and from 18-yards, Farid El Alagui rose to head the Bairns in front.

Aye, ridiculous when they clearly show Alston as scorer in the score with the headline.

Billy Dodds predicted that the Ayr United v Falkirk cup tie would go to extra time. Maybe it will but it can't happen tomorrow night.

Don't listen to Billy Dodds. My niece has a five-year-old son who talks more sense and has a bigger vocabulary than Dodds, although his head isn't made of teak.

The match reports are even shite when the big teams in the SPL* are involved.

Killie's goal at Ibrox today.

The BBC's take on the goal:

"Shiels eased past a few Rangers defenders and clinically placed the ball to goalkeeper Allan McGregor's right to give Killie thoughts of ending the day in the top half of the table."

Which Rangers defenders did he "ease past"?

*Killie, obviously.

The Sunday Mail seems to think that QotS assistant manager is called Andy Milne.

Sunday Mail state Arthurlie manager is Sandy Stewart. He was at Bolton last I heard unless Sandy McLean has been sacked and he is now in charge lol.

I wondered about that, I thought it might be coincidence. It's happened to Sandy before. He was widely quoted in The Sunday Mail speaking as Airdrie manager about a month after he got sacked and Kenny Black had taken over. So even sitting in the same room talking to the guy in a press conference isn't enough to get it right. Kenny even had a top with his initials on it.

CHRIS INNES feels born again after ending nine months without a club by scoring on his Arbroath debut.

The big defender strolled through his first 90 minutes since being released by Caley Thistle in the summer.

The former Livingston and Gretna stopper had spent his time out of action getting his coaching business up and running.

Eh no Mr George Rowe of the Scottish Sun. He's already played 2 games for them against Brechin and Forfar.

A couple from the Livi v Rovers match at the weekend.

From the Scotsman:

"After that it just seemed to be in the script that the Livingston striker would be taking the match ball home with him and sure enough with the assistance of a mistimed challenge in the box by Grant Murray – who was red-carded for his troubles – McNulty stepped forward and duly got his hat-trick from the resultant penalty kick."

Funny but I thought it was Davidson who was sent off.

And as always from BBC Sport:

"Kyle Jacobs' fantastic drilled effort gave the hosts the lead on 17 minutes"

It took a massive deflection off his own player lying on the ground of flew up and over McGurn into the top of the net.

and again from BBC:

"McNulty's drive put Livi two ahead three minutes into the second half and the striker volleyed home his second on the hour."

He slid in at the back post. It was the most opposite thing from a volley he could do.

George Rowe is a Thistle legend! I'll have you say nothing against him. He probably meant home debut.
