jojo
It's now obvious the climate is changing. floods in england, pakistan, australia, and disasters in america ect, ect. The world getting hotter and we can assume that it is the fault of humans. Yet still nothing is seriously being done about it. Noting has changed because there is too much money at stake. The greedy fucktards are too interested in money than saving the planet. When will we wake up instead of sleepwalking into a disaster?

Ad Lib
Global temperatures have been pretty static, and falling in the last few years. Still, don't let that get in the way of the determination of the West to stop industrialising countries from using the resources available to them in energy production... -
Enigma
The people who warn of climate change and global warming now are the same people who warned us of the new ice age in the 60s.

Still, don't let that get in the way of the determination of the West to stop industrialising countries from using the resources available to them in energy production... it's pretty obvious that carbon is fucking up the atmosphere. it's like smoking fags, it's seems pretty obvious it's bad for you but it took people ages to accept that. unfortunately just like smoking fags having electricty and going places is amazing so we're gubbed. your logic also doesn't work. it's like saying lung cancer wouldn't be an issue if everyone started smoking 60 fags a day because there had always been people with lung cancer. we can't predict what will happen in the future with ever increasing pollution by looking at the past when there wasn't any.
Supras
The people who warn of climate change and global warming now are the same people who warned us of the new ice age in the 60s. And those who warned us of mass starvation in the 1850s. You can never underestimate the innovation or resourcefulness within the human mind, it's gotten us out of plenty of shit in the past. But there is always an overwhelming desire to predict the end of the world and throughout most of history this was confined to religious nut cases but now science has now predicted several crisis' with a fairly decent consensus that have not come to fruition. And the rapture pish still exists in an alarming capacity. Plus, it's always nice to consider that we are the pinnacle of civilization but we won't be, in 200 years people will look back at us meat eaters - and the people who made drugs illegal - in the same disgust as slavery is viewed today. It's the moral zeitgeist.

Ad Lib
it's pretty obvious that carbon is fucking up the atmosphere. Fucking up? Who are you to define what the atmosphere is meant to be like or what level of carbon dioxide is optimal? The levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere have been much higher than they are now just a matter of a few million years ago. The global temperature shows no significant lasting trend, and at most we're seeing increased climate volatility. Indeed it may be beneficial for improved crop yield in more temperate climates as we'll see more rain and more carbon dioxide, the critical components for growth. it's like smoking fags, it's seems pretty obvious it's bad for you but it took people ages to accept that. unfortunately just like smoking fags having electricty and going places is amazing so we're gubbed. It's not obvious that higher levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere is bad for us. The changes in parts per million is fucking minuscule on an already tiny fraction of the overall air composition. Indeed there's as much evidence to suggest that any warming effect carbon dioxide may or may not be effecting has been comfortably offset by other greenhouse gases like chloroflurocarbons and by the emergence of new sunspots. your logic also doesn't work. it's like saying lung cancer wouldn't be an issue if everyone started smoking 60 fags a day because there had always been people with lung cancer. we can't predict what will happen in the future with ever increasing pollution by looking at the past when there wasn't any. Pollution is subjective. This smoking analogy is simply not comparable and I'd suggest if you want a serious discussion that you drop it. -
