Lang Toun Lad
I haven't been listening to dance music much recently but I had to give Bicep's new album 'Isles' a listen. Another cracker, if a bit poppy at times, but not as good as some of their earlier records. tongue_tied_danny
There's simply nowhere near enough Latin Freestyle tracks from 1986 on this thread. I aim to do something about that... Was it worth a visit? Yeah I enjoyed it. It was kinda euro-centric, focusing on clubs in Italy and Berlin more than anywhere else. I believe that the exhibition was borrowed from a museum in Germany, so that would explain why. Music wise they mostly covered disco, house and techno. I was quite surprised that Northern Soul wasn't mentioned, but I suppose they don't have enough space for every subculture. There was a section on Scottish clubs, mainly the Sub Club and the Rhumba. Though TBH that felt like it had been tacked on. It was a decent way to spend an hour or so on a rainy Saturday afternoon. They really just focused on Tresor and Berghain. A couple of other clubs were briefly mentioned but I can't remember if E-Werk was one of them TBH.
