SaltyTON
Awful signing. Code: They've signed an experienced SPL centre half, and our best defender is a wee boy with no experience at this level, so I'm going to post slagging in a well known pro in hope no-one notices! When your kiddy defence get horsed for the first time next season, you'll realise how much of a gap there is betwenn the First and your stroll in the park with only a Morton rejects XI as competition last season... Hawk89
Its in the Record today that we've signed Kevin Cuthbert, from the few times I've seen him he's looked pretty decent....any Morton fans care to comment on his ability?

In that respect, he's an improvement to their defence.
vikingTON
He's better than Mehdi Khallus or whatever the guy's name was. In that respect, he's an improvement to their defence. What a ridiculous claim, if he's on a large wage that stops Falkirk signing better players in other positions (or defensive cover for his injury problems) then he's a far poorer signing. This shit should be getting moved to other thread too.

Possibly the biggest wage budget in the league. 20 players is the same as last season as the two young lads will more than likely go on loan somewhere again? I imagine a squad of 20 won't be the biggest in the league. It certainly wasn't last season.

I imagine a squad of 20 won't be the biggest in the league. It certainly wasn't last season. Dunfermline certainly had a bigger squad than that, and Morton may have been close. However, I suspect this season it will be the largest squad of senior first team players in the league. Many clubs will be running with 14-16 supplemented by four or five U19 players. Well, you say that, but Kurtis Byrne isn't a senior first team player, as Adams has stated. He's essentially making up the numbers. Darren McCormack will probably get released too, but it's definitely fair to say this squad is significantly improved on last season's fiasco. Corocoran will probably be allowed to go to whichever team needs a fairly skillful winger who is great for twenty minutes then collapses in a heap spewing his guts out, and I wouldn't at all be surprised if Kettlewell or Lawson is allowed to move on. Whilst the club are yet to confirm anything directly, given MacPherson himself is quoted in the paper this morning confirming it we can probably presume it's accurate. I've removed Adam Dougan and Ian Reid from the list of Out of Contract u19 players as I believe they were not offered anything. The other seven apparently have been and are due to meet Gus MacPherson imminently to confirm the position. Of the out of contract seniors, suggestions on here that Bob Harris is going on trial to an English Championship club. Neil Scally is an inevitable departure as he won't be playing at this level and I have to presume he won't be coaching the 19's as we won't be able to afford another coach. David Weatherston was apparently offered a contract prior to MacPherson's appointment but it would appear the manager wants to talk to him before agreeing it now. Unclear where that one is at though I would hope he does sign personally. EDITED - To confirm Rocco Quinn's move to Dingwall. Good luck to him when not playing us. FURTHER EDIT - To confirm David Lilley has joined Airdrie United
