The Queen of the South thread

Massive two weeks for us to get bodies back, and get players in. Badly need an experienced no nonsense centre half, so that mistakes like the first goal Dont happen. Need a quality centre mid. And need a striker at bare minimum. Liked look of Gordon in the 10 today though. Nditi needs to stay where he is, Connelly and Paton tireless upfront. Thought Fitzpatrick looked bright without doing a lot, a few good runs

Great point for Queens today at a difficult venue.
Noticed Gavin Reilly bagged himself a double today. He would have done a job at Palmerston but the powers at be thought differently! Head and shoulders above any striker we have on our books just now.

I said that at time Reilly easily better than anything we have now.

He has taken time to get 100% match fit but will always get you goals .

Good result at Inverness but have been saying all season we should have signed at least one experienced centre half .

Our defending especially through the middle of the defence is very poor .

Now AJ has 2 weeks to get at least 3 top quality players in use everything he has fans money go over budget if he has to if not we will not stay in the Championship crucial 2 weeks then the biggest game of the season

Yes, a point in Inverness is decent enough, but we're nearer the bottom in terms of points than we were before the day began.

Ayr have been drawn back in a bit, but with Dunfermline and Morton winning, we're again needing to put together some wins of our own.

That still feels like a tall order.

It's got nothing to do with match fitness but rather a change of tactics from those used by the gutless loser previously in charge. You may be familiar with his work.

Looks like there will be more twists and turns than a twisty-turny thing to stay in this division now, with the bottom half teams now looking genuinely competitive in the division rather than the shiftless rabble before the New Year.

This ..... we're certainly capable of scrapping the odd unexpected draw here and there but we all know that alone won't be good enough.  It's wins that will keep you from the drop.  Each of our previous escapes have required a few wins to do it ..... won't be any different this time - just can't see them happening though without improving the back line, and maybe something up top.  Don't envy AJ his task.

Aye, a good result on its own. But it is now 1 win and 9 points in the last 13 games. Picking up wins against the teams in the bottom 5 (not that we’ve even got that many) isn’t going to be enough. And those teams will be harder to beat now anyway.
We’re going to have to start winning games against the top 5 teams. So far, our record v top 5 is P12 W1 D4 L7 Pts 7. That would translate into 5 points from the remaining 8 games against them. That won’t be enough, imo.

Well that is a welcome point. Thought we played well at times but we gave Inverness to many chances they did not take. Thought Gordon do well in first half but non existent second bit that could be down to lack of game time at Thistle. Ref was right with out second goal. Was Gibson injured or has AJ grown a pair. Liddle was anonymous for me. Why did Wullie let the ball bounce twice for their second goal. Agree that Nditi Connelly and McGrory played really well. Players still giving everything for club. Game on 29th is huge

Decent in possession and put in a shift. Quietly impressed but only one game, hopefully will get stronger with games

Yeah,Shea didn’t get much match time at Firhill this season with only 20-25 mins left of any game to prove himself. When he’s on form he plays a good attacking midfield roll and may spring the odd goal or two for you .Hope it works out for him and yourselves .

There are  quality players available but will we pay top dollar to get them .

We have almost 30,000 in the Tanner Fund that must be used now or what is the point of it .

Only thing about the profit from last year is that the board are saying we are going to lose a six figure sum  this season.

This we must he full time just does not do on crowds of under 1000.

Have to take into account the times we’ve only been allowed certain amount in stadium, arena not being open and no cup run.. it’s not all on crowd but obviously isn’t helping matters
