More than ever, the need for any arrivals to be cheap is huge.

Hopefully, there are some decent players in there, but right now, their affordability matters more than anything.  They might be hopeless of course, but I'm honestly ok with that if it'll help the club survive what looks a perilous season.

I don't even mean survival in the division.  I just mean survival as in remaining alive.

Yep, would just be happy to see Queens again in any division. There is a very real chance of it going tits up this season and to be honest if we end up being relegated then so be it. Just hope folks cut the players and management some slack.

To paraphrase an old Billy Connolly anecdote (the cheetah and the camera men) as long as we are still standing at the end of this pandemic, that will be good enough for me.

So are you admitting the signings are bad then? And your justification for buying poor players is that your board are deliberately spending less to secure the safety of the club. You’d obviously rather think that than admit that your board aren’t that competent and are buying these players through bad judgment and irrational optimism.

First images of the new kit now on the OS http://www.qosfc.com/news-5230

The home top is fine pretty plain and simple but that's not a bad thing.  It's very similar to the first Macron home top but without the striped collar.  I like the look of the away top a lot.

No disrespect to Gregor Buchanan but it looks even better with this man wearing it:

Signed for Morton. I guess he wasn't with you long enough to figure out if right back or centre back was his best position, or how good he was at all really?

I've just seen that. Which is extremely confusing because as far as I know he was cleared to England to sign for South Shields today! So that's odd!

I don't think I ever saw him play. You saw him play more than I did probably since one of his games was the 2-2 draw at Morton. He started 5 games for us before the season shut. All away from home and I wasn't at any of them. He was an unused sub in two home games I did see. I believe he came as a centre back but filled in at right back more than he ever played in the centre for us.

We haven’t seen much of most of these players if at all, so unlike you most of us would rather witness them actually play a game before disregarding them as poor.

Not at all. I am saying the club are being pragmatic in the middle of a global crisis.

Therefore, in my eyes, they do have a free pass to gamble on players that may not cost the same as jobbers I would expect them to sign pre- pandemic.

This may actually work in our favour and you never know. There may be a Dykes in amongst them to keep the club going for another few years.

For Queens it isn’t about challenging for the league or even staying in the league. It is about staying alive, when there is a good chance others will sadly perish.

Well, signed up for tommorrow's Diamonds TV stream. £5 seems fair enough to me, though if Championship games on QOS's platform are £10 or more I'm out! Claiming live commentary it'd better be good to match the worthies on Stranraer TV, those guys are like being at a game with your mates. Dobbie. Gibson and Buchanan better be good at developing youngsters 'cause looks like that will be what they are doing this season.

A young looking Squad is taking shape now, with an average age of 22 not Inc Dobbie (37) & Gibson (36).   Another two players are definitely needed a RB & a CB and to make a squad of 20 maybe either a CM or CF. Still four domestic loans available so wouldn't be too surprised if they all came in on loan. A brand new squad with only Leighfield, Pybus & Dobbie remaining ftom last season I am glad the squad has 3 games in the Betfred Cup before the league starts it'll give the players a chance to get a bit if understanding how each other plays.

I think we might get one more a centre back think we will go with Willie Gibson at right back .

Very young squad with very little experience massive jump to play in the Championship

I saw him play against thistle up there at right back. Wasn’t entirely comfortable but did ok, I’d question whether he can actually play there for a sustained period. Not great on the ball, didn’t seem to bad defensively in that game. Don’t think I saw him play bar that

I'm of an age now where watching live stream at home warm and with all my comforts is becoming more appealing than freezing my bollocks off during the winter watching the real deal !!!! It is infinately better than listening to some of the absolute garbage we hear at games and I will not have to listen to any infernal Drumming, does my box in !!!!!!!!

I'm not really getting this continual reference to us going for an especially young squad next season. It's a pretty young squad but I'm not sure it's in reality any younger than last season's?

The two keepers are a year older than last year's two keepers.

Kilday at 27 was the oldest centre back (Brownlie 25, Semple 21). Later additions were Devine 18 and Ledger 24. This season Buchanan is 30 and Obileye 26.

Hard to conclude anything about full backs when the only one we have is an 18 year old signed on loan today. In losing the 27 year old Holt we lost our most experienced defender. Mercer was 24.

Dobbie is a year older. Last year he had Oliver 24, Hamilton 19. This year he has East 20, Shields 23 and Goss 22 plus young Joseph at 19.

Wide men last year were Murray 22, Petravicius 24, Faiss 27. This year we have some combination of Fitzpatrick, Robinson and McKechnie as it stands who are all 19. And potentially Wullie Gibson at 36.

Centrally we still have Pybus and have replaced Osman 32, Paton 30, Kidd 24, Lyon 24, and Wilson 21 with McCabe 28, McKee 27, Gibson 36.

The wingers are younger (unless Gibson is going to play there but I think that's unlikely). The full backs probably will be. The goalkeepers and striker are about the same and the centre backs and central midfielders are older.

So, you're happy to pay £5 for a test stream of a pre-season friendly, but £10 for a competitive game is too much?

Yes to the first and yes to the second part unless what's on offer is drastically better than what Queens games have offered recently in the most part. If you wish to spend £10 or more you are perfectly entitled and I won't question or be surprised or try to make any judgement.

Im not saying anyone has to spend any money. It just seems a little odd that you'll pay to watch a test stream of a friendly but not to watch the same team play competitive games
