Interesting ideas on Queens web page on reserves and community activities. Good to get updates and learn all the good Queens is doing in the community. It a fault a lot of business and organisations make is they don't promote enough what they do and tend to just get on and do it. The difference it can make to people can be inspirational and we can take it fro granted.
What is PLAYERTEK system and what does it measure and how can information be used?

Brilliant work by Dan Armstrong and two extremely interesting articles on the official site this week.
Well done to everyone involved.

Good stuff and well done to all involved. At least off the park things are really positive.

Reading those quotes from the Breakfast Club are pretty heartbreaking mind you.

4-4-2 reading challenge is a great initiative. This line stood out, though.

"The challenge is for kids to read books and for every book they read they get a stamp and once they have read four books and have the stamps – they can exchange it for a ticket so they can come to a Queen of the South game for free."

Seems harsh to punish kids for reading.

Really good report on QOS official site re the excellent community based work being done. Well done to all involved.

That was an excellent read and it sounds like Dan Armstrong deserves a lot of credit for the work he is doing.

Generally I am quite cynical about the term "community club" as it is a pretty vague term that almost every club seems to use about themselves.  Given the general apathy towards the club from the Dumfries public I wasn't really sure if it applied to us or not.  We don't feel like an integral cog at the heart of the community, with most people unable to name a player or tell you our last result.

That article dispels that view though with a considerable list of really great work the club does in the community.  It just shows how important a football team is to a town/region.  I really hope it continues to grow.

Yes, really pretty impressive.  Young Dan seems to be doing a great job.

Nice to read something to make you feel good about the club.

You are spot on, Monkey.  What a great read that was  and hats off to Dan and the Club for that excellent work.  it's so easy to get despondent about Queen of the South when you just look at the "performances" on the pitch, but this shows a different and much more positive side to things. And as for the kids' quotes....

It is excellent stuff.Changed days from the Willie Harkness days. As a young  QOS fan at primary school I didn't  even get a reply to a beggin letter for some "  old used Queens tops ".

Really bad PR.

Couple of trialists playing for reserves, defender and a striker. Anyone know any names?

No 10 playing left midfield Cameron (Cammy) pretty good game uses both feet happy on the ball & vocal, No 4 "Beastie" playing CB 2/3 miss kicks nervous looking. Tommy Goss a handful up top.
