Our position is now perilous- Morton win at Ayr was a huge blow but when you lose 4 consecutive home matches you really can’t blame anyone but ourselves. It looks increasingly as though it is likely to be a perm 2 from ourselves, Partick and Alloa for bottom two slots. There is no shortage of criticism for the Manager but what about the players? A real lack of leadership on the pitch and that is an issue that needs addressed especially in the forthcoming dogfight that we face. Last season we folded like a cheap suit when the pressure was applied and this season looks like a carbon copy.

Queens have still to win a game in 2020, Morton are unbeaten in 2020!
Bet 365 have Morton @ 11/4 to win or 13/8 draw no bet! Do they know something I don’t? [emoji848]

Massive, massive game this Saturday! If we can somehow manage a win it might give us some encouragement going into the business end of the season. If we get beat? Oh dear 🥴

While you’re on comparisons with last season, worth pointing out that after 24 games last season you were in 5th place, six points clear of 9th and seven clear of bottom. You at least had a bit of distance to the relegation places before collapsing, which you don’t have to cling to this time.

It’s hardly a foregone conclusion though, if you beat us on Saturday we’re still right in amongst it, you’ve seen recently how frail our defence is and one win can turn things around.

You are right we were in a relatively comfortable position last season at this stage and we had better players. The team developed
an uncanny knack of finding ways to lose very close matches by the odd goal. Sadly, the trait continues this season - our goal difference of only -6 is not too bad for a team second bottom which supports the view that teams are not beating us easily but our inability to win our fair share of home games is the main problem. It is also very inconsiderate of Arbroath to be performing so well. It is by no means certain that Partick will start delivering but the expectation is that they will climb above us and Alloa. We need another mid table side to slither into the relegation quicksand but to make this happen we need to start winning some 6 pointers starting on Saturday!!

Club AGM tonight, this could be interesting. On the positive the club accounts show a profit. But the Negative is that the team is near the bottom of the table, without a win in 2020! 1 point from 18....

It will be very interesting to hear what the Directors and the manager has to say about this.......

Johnston must be hanging onto his job by his fingertips a defeat by Morton on Sat and it has to be time for change.

That's the really depressing bit.

The similarities with last season are uncanny for Queens fans.   There is a big difference though.  We've started being utterly hopeless early enough this time to fall right through the floor.

Last time out, only our good January prevented that from happening, and even then, only by a whisker.

Also early enough tho to change the manager with just over a 1/4 of the season to go.....

It's simply not true to say this season resembles last and the fact people are continuing to do so is really starting to bug me!

Last season we qualified out of the group stage of the League Cup before losing AET to Premiership St Johnstone, made it through two rounds of the Challenge Cup, made it to the Fifth Round of the Scottish Cup before losing to Aberdeen and briefly flirted with the possibility of reaching the promotion playoffs.

Obviously the wheels fell off spectacularly, and we only scraped survival by the skin of our teeth, but there were some very good spells last season that seem to have been forgotten about due to the dreadful way the season ended.

This season, on the other hand, has been a shambolic shitshow from the word go.  Yes it has got worse around the same time of year as last season's downturn, but it never even got close to the "heights" of last season before doing so.

Our league form was fairly similar up to Christmas in both seasons, was it not?

Reaching the promotion play-offs this time, didn't seem so unfeasible after our Christmas time win at Ayr.

We certainly did better in the Cups last season.  As noted, the nosedive also started a bit earlier last time.  To highlight the clear resemblance between the seasons is hardly fanciful though.  They're present and striking.  Even in terms of "heights", the hammering of Dundee United in October was reminiscent of what we did to Ayr the year before.

Things needn't be identical to resemble each other.

A little more from AGM on mad board.

As I've said before,  Naysmith threw in the towel after January around the time his contract talks didn't go as he wanted.  He probably wouldn't have been kept on anyway even if he'd got us through the relegation  play-offs.   He's no loss and shouldn't be pitied for the way he was emptied.

I am glad that the fuller story came out regarding GN’s departure. I remember listening to him playing “the wounded soldier” on Sportscene not long after his departure from Queens but tellingly he failed to mention the key fact that he was offered a new contract a few months earlier but chose to reject it.

So it takes for Dobbie to tell AJ to get Semple back before he actually does it? He couldn't see for himself that Semple needed to come back? Christ. I just hope Dobbie now tells him to get Hamilton alongside him. The sooner he goes the better. Absolutely clueless.

He was talking about bringing him back to the club on Dobbies recommendation, nothing to do with bringing him back into the team.

Surely, its clear now that Semple wasnt in the team because he wasnt fully fit?
