Takes some genius to come back to a club years later and actually strengthen the love and devotion between you/the club/the fans. He's got Ole Gunnar Solskjaer levels of genius, only maintained for two seasons! Would love to see the state of his Standard Grades man. The whole flag reveal was brilliant, and the awareness they created surely got some extra bodies in the gate. We are very lucky to have a player of his calibre with us so thank you to him. Some stats I noticed that he has either in his sights or achieved this season. 1) most goals in a season for queens in all comps is 41. He on 37. 2) most goals in a season across Scotland I seen 52 and 66 quoted. The latter may be out of reach but a plus 50 goal season is definitely achievable.3) 150 goals for queens is within touching distance. 4) just over 100 more games for queens and he will break into the top 20 all time appearances for the club. 325 is the target he currently 218. 5) leads the current championship format all time goals on 66. 6) is in the top 3 all time challenge cup goal scorers list. He was up front, midfield and on occasions defence. Just a shame his Ryan McCann (if slightly shorter) effort in the first half just went wide of the post. He doesn’t score as many as people would like but links up well with Dobbie and it would be interesting to see how many assists he has for Dobbie. BeeJay Posted January 30, 2019 Share Posted January 30, 2019 In the 60+ years I have followed Queens I have been fortunate to see many great players...Jim Patterson, Ivor Broadis, George Farm, Dougie Sharpe, Ian McChesney and many more. All were great Queens players. But Stephen Dobbie is without a doubt in a class of his own, both technically and as far as his commitment to the club. What a shift he put in. As one Dykes' biggest critics last season I have to admit he's a much improved player both in ability, workrate and what he brings to the team. I find it strange though that some posters say we will miss him when he's away as if we will not be fielding another player in his place. Of course it depends on who is brought in to replace him and if they can match or better Dykes' performances of this season, we don't know that yet, but we won't be playing with a man short.
