I saw about 6 or 7 minutes of the first half. Starting eleven for us was:

Jack Leighfield, Danny Irving, Charlie Exley, Archie Gardiner, Jake Thompson, Dan Harvey, Owen Bell, Dean Watson, Robbie Ivison, Ross Irving and Connor Murray

No "senior" players but generally our strongest team of youngsters minus the currently injured Gourlay and Tremble.

Derek Gaston was in goal for Morton. Don't think any of the others were senior players but not certain. Certainly none of them looked very old.

Morton reserve team this afternoon. _20180903_215956.JPG.22f351f32896ad9372e0b308861db5ce.JPG

Is it possible to extend Semple's loan to make it the whole season? I'm not sure of the rules for loans and I think he's only here until January.

Absolutly this. His highlights have been good but watching via qostv90 games and this Saturday, he is a very good player. Great first touch, calm in defence seems to be able to pick a pass and was defintly getting his head on most crosses. Good player please extend his loan if he continues this run of form.

Yes it would be a shame to break up that back line at Christmas. A lot will depend on Sheffield United's view but our manager has given the lad the game time they asked for and Naismith has good relationships at United, so if he wants to keep him till the end of the season then it should be possible. Might help us if the Scotland u21s have a look as that would add to the valuation Sheffield put on the lad. It's not all about the football now and that's a shame.

Just watching Crusaders. We're in for a right kicking match! They make Livvy/ Motherwell look like fairies! Hope we don't get any injuries.

It looks like they play to different rules in Northern Ireland. For once I hope we get a good referee for the game and yes i hope we can avoid not only injuries but also retaliating to some of the attention we will surely get.

Nothing much happened all game. Thompson and Harvey were impressive gave Morton no chance. Murray played well but seems to give me the impression that he feels he’s too good for reserve football. Dean Watson played decent enough as well, and Leighfield was very solid. Decent performance, albeit I don’t se any knocking down the door to get in the first team, or anywhere near it for that matter.

Wasn’t aware Queens had played last week or this week in the league? Nothing on the OS?

The fixtures were published in advance on the OS. In terms of post match info it relies on someone who was there providing it. Nobody did for the loss at St Johnstone and we have had nothing yet on yesterdays game.

I was quite busy yesterday. It was a lonnng day.

Do Scottish clubs require International clearance when registering new/loan players from abroad with the SFA? If so, imagine that this can be a bit time consuming and laborious to arrange, especially with smaller foreign associations.  Is there any difference to signing the young lad from Vancouver Whitecaps due to his Scottish father and background?

Bugbear of mine, after AFC Wimbledon have twice fallen foul of the rules with the English FA having been deducted points for the above.

Every club in the world needs international clearance to bring in a player (loan or permanent) from another national association. One of the most utterly frustrating things about it is that almost without fail the slowest national association to deal with and issue clearance is the English FA. They are an absolute nightmare. 15 days to get clearance for Charlie Exley to move from Gateshead. About 5 minutes total to get clearance for David Norman from Canada, albeit that's because it was deadline day and the SFA were staffed to midnight. On a normal day it would have taken longer due to time differences, etc. I've also dealt with the Australian FA (Dykes, twice) and US Soccer (Dzierzawski) and had no problems at all other than the time differences of course which inevitably mean delays in the normal course of events.

There's no difference at all regardless of the player's back ground (presuming they don't need a work permit). It would be the same if the player was Scottish in the first place and was returning from abroad.

International clearance stuff is laborious due to all the paperwork required, including passports, Third Party Ownership declarations, loan agreements, contracts, registrations, etc. Plus in Norman's case unlike anyone coming from England or even Western Europe, there was a major time difference so while the deal had been discussed on the Thursday night, we couldn't then move it forward until late afternoon on deadline day as Vancouver is 8 hours behind and the player was at training in the morning too and not available to sign anything until evening.  His move was also slightly more complicated as three countries were involved. Although he's registered in Canada under the auspices of the Canadian Soccer Association, the club plays in the MLS so their approval was also required.

I live in perennial fear of an admin error causing a problem! So far we've been ok though (touch wood).

Pretty sure we needed some kind of clearance for Kevin 'Jez-oor-aw-ski' before he played. Sure that's what the initial hold up was.

Dzierzawski was different because unlike Norman (and Dykes) who have British parents, he doesn't have a UK passport. So he didn't have an automatic right to work here and therefore required a work permit which meant a complicated (and costly) application process via the SFA and the Home Office. And under the rules he couldn't apply for a work permit whilst "in country". He had to fly home and apply to the British Embassy in the USA. That was a right mission that one!

It is hoped that the Queens Centenary book will be available around the beginning of November. It is proposed that there will be a limited edition of 100 hardback copies (price to be confirmed), with the remainder in softback. Could anyone who is interested in obtaining the hardback edition please email museum@qosfc.com to reserve a copy. Further details will follow shortly. The book will include a complete statistical history of the club.

Which is fair enough, but much like last season if it’s not a win the info doesn’t seem to get passed over.

There are also pictures of yesterday’s game available from the game v Morton on the OS. Maybe the photographer could provide a quick update to add to the site?

There were numerous mentions of the Rangers game in the build up? So had hoped the info would be more forth coming this season and maybe even all the scores/scorers held on the OS.

Pre- publication orders for the 100 limited edition hard back copies has now been closed due to demand. will update accordingly.

If there's such a demand for the hardback copies maybe a larger run could be done? (Is there more profit between a hardback and a softback book?)

Went for 100 for obvious reasons, and yes a larger run could be done. It costs quite a bit more to print the hardback, so difference in price. Not sure about profit difference between the two.
