Its broken, it doesnt run on batteries. It needs a cherry picker and a specialist repair man to be available at the same time. Not logistically that easy to organise.

There was a cherry picker at that end during last week too.   I was hopeful that the clock was being addressed when I saw it.  They must have just been adding the new Oakbank boards though.

Great to see Dobbie there supporting the reserves today.

Yes it was, Sure he is part of the reserves coaching staff, and was on the pitch helping out the strikers before the match too. Gary Naysmith also in attendance helping, Eddie, Dobbie and Davie Mathieson.

I believe my first game was an away game at Dens in 96 or so. I don't remember it, but I'm told we went 1-0 up thanks to a screamer then lost 3(?)-1. At that point I was 4 years old and we lived closer to Forfar. I remember going to Brechin and Forfar a few times (then season we wore the blue and yellow stripes seems to stick in my mind). After a move down south then back, I really got in to following us in 2002, just after the promotion. Lived in Perth (which is the closest I've ever lived to Palmerston) since then so mainly been away games. Was 10-15 games a season up until I started refereeing locally here 5 years ago, so now it's 3 or 4 if I'm lucky. In fact, I've only been to Palmerston 3 times in the last 4 years.

3rd September 1966, we beat Dumbarton 4-2, Jimmy Davison scored twice (I think), I watched the game from the ‘ Coo shed ‘.

That’s 52 years almost,  I have seen some epic games and some unbelievable dross, but I have never lost the faith.

But I’ll say this, for all our current worries, we are light years ahead of where we were in the dark days of some of the 80s.

I’ll be at Falkirk on Saturday....

The clock is a annoyance, I never realised how much I actually used it until now and the players use it also I have noticed over the years. Was in the terrace on Saturday and might have to stay to keep me from stress.

As mentioned I bet it's a hard job to get someone to fix it, don't see too many of them about anymore

Didn't manage to see more than 5 minutes of it but I believe the Reserves were unlucky to lose 2-1 to two late goals to Rangers today. Connor Murray scored early on for us. An inexperienced line up in which Murray was comfortably the most senior player involved for us. Rangers apparently fielded a team of mostly u21 internationals. Great effort from our young team.

I think they had 1 player with u21 caps going by the @rfcyouthupdates Twitter page.

Which was Liam Burt, Zak Rudden maybe as well though he hasn’t been in the squad in the last 12 months.

First game against Dundee in I think, 1976, might have been 77.  One of those rare games when we came back from two down to get something - a 2-2 draw.

Feb 15th 1977

any idea how many spectators at palmerston this afternoon

About 160ish. 151 at kick off but there were some late entries after that.

25th January 1997. Scottish Cup tie. We lost 3-1. Alex Nesovic scored a screamer for us right enough but it was an equaliser at the time, not the opener

I know im an Ayr fan but indulge me. My first Queens game was in Dumfries but it was not at Palmerston.

Where was the game played?

Seriously? Trick question? Youth game? As far as I know we havent played a first team "home" game anywhere except Palmerston apart from the UEFA cup game at Airdrie.

Fair enough. Havent seen their team line, just repeating what I was (erroneously) told.

Sure 8/9  starters for Rangers had played international level at various age groups.

A pre-season friendly at the Crichton ?? I mind watching us play stenhousemuir there around 86/87 but can’t recall Ayr Utd

That's what I was thinking too.   I vaguely recollect watching a Queens game up there but not the details.  It wasn't a competitive 1st team game anyway.

As for this damned clock,  is it not part of an advertisement,  and if so was it the advertisers or club who supplied it? It may not be the club's responsibility to fix it if they do not own it.  My advice is quite simple,  if you know it doesn't work then don't look at it.

Their number nine has played in the first team this season and the number eleven is an under 19 international with Finland. As regards the crowd, who were still trickling in twenty minutes after the start, there was a fair number of Rangers supporters present which certainly boosted it. Got both teams if anyone really interested.

I didn't day it involved Ayr!:P

My family moved to Dumfries in 86, my Dad was a journalist and worked at The Standard so covered  the game.  So yes kleinfaethetoon my first Quuens game was at The Crichton.

My first game at Palmerston wss the 1-0 defeat to Dundee United  in the league cup. Who coincidently knocked Ayr out in the next round.

Went to Palmerston a lot in the late 80's/early 90's, it wasn't exactly a golden era!

Ours was Jack Leighfield, Dan Irving, Charlie Exley, Jake Thompson, Ewan Gourlay (Liam Douglas), Archie Gardiner (Callum Williams), Dean Watson, Robbie Ivison, Connor Murray, Declan Tremble (Ross Irving), Dom McMahon

Ah, never thought of pre season. I dont recall that one but do recall a pre season 3 way tourney with Blackwood Dynamos and Harthill Juniors a bit later than that. July 12th 1997.
