A lot of part time fans on this thread. Real fans never forget their first time ;)

My first game was August 1965. QOS at home to Stranraer. My dad took me and had chosen this particular fixture as we had never lost to Stranraer and were thus guaranteed a positive result for my first match. We lost 2-1

Such disappointment stood me in good stead going forward. I started attending regularly in 1967.

Sounding the SD klaxon!

Pretty certain my first game was in 07/08 season against Livingston. Problem I got is cant remember which one as they both were 1-0 home wins. I have a vague memory of the Livingston physio running ( loosely meant as she was a rather large woman) onto the pitch mid game. I have lost my programs up to 2013 so struggling to remember the exact game. Please help

Top clubs already have hybrid pitches, do they not? Mainly grass but with artificial "blades" woven in.
I agree, though, I doubt pure artificial pitches will ever be common place in the top flight but mainly because they can afford better options.

I'm never cheeky to you, ya dick!...

Wasn't disputing it happened, more that you thought I would somehow know what game it was because two players swapped shinguards when a sub was happening! [emoji38]
I keep some really picky records, but I've never recorded incidents of kit swapping on the sidelines!

Ah, fair enough. Poor from you though SD. You've been a real life Rainman up until this point [emoji14]

To be fair I don't have records of the size (or sex) of the physios and when they ran onto the pitch either. If you don't know which 1-0 win you were at there's not a chance in Hell I'm going to know!

This was the Livi physio up to July 2007 - the first game was in August so it's a possibility, but she doesn't look very large.

The second game was at Christmas, floodlights and John O'Neill scored a penalty. Ring any bells?

Ok defiantly not second game at Christmas. My first floodlights game was against Dundee utd in Challenge cup few seasons back. Must of been August game. I mind being in the New stand for the game. I sound a bit of dick with the "large woman" comment which apologies for.

Just to clarify it would have been a 3 pm kick off  but would have had floodlights on due to the time of year. Nice for you if we've cleared that up though.

I even had a look on eBay to see if there's a prog available for your first game. There is for the December game but not the August one.

I think you have thank you.

Does anyone happen to have team line up from the august game that year. Thanks in advance

You're records are clearly different to SD's.

Well here's my Queens autobiography:

First game against Dundee in I think, 1976, might have been 77.  One of those rare games when we came back from two down to get something - a 2-2 draw.

Over the next few seasons I'd have averaged no more than a game or two a season as my dad played golf on Saturdays.  I first became a regular in the 1981/82 season.   I kind of fell away from it for a couple of years around 84/85 ish before returning to the fold.   I lived away from Dumfries for a decade or so between 88 and 98 though, so only really attended when visiting.

Since moving back to town, I've been a Palmerston regular, but don't often go to away games.

Didn't manage to see more than 5 minutes of it but I believe the Reserves were unlucky to lose 2-1 to two late goals to Rangers today. Connor Murray scored early on for us. An inexperienced line up in which Murray was comfortably the most senior player involved for us. Rangers apparently fielded a team of mostly u21 internationals. Great effort from our young team.

They will benefit hugely from every game this season .

Very good game today the experience and fitness of Rangers told in the end, the young Queens lads done well against a good Rangers team, Leighfield had couple of great saves and poor finishing kept game at 1-0 for a long time. Unfortunately the young team is like the first team and short in numbers, yes players to fill shirts but no more. Feel for the management at all levels.

To bring the chat back to a miserable level, I have to say I'm getting to Monkey Tennis levels of irritation just now. Not with the sign but with the clock. Do we not have any gigantic batteries for it? [emoji38]

Yes, the clock was bugging me on Saturday too.

As for the sign though, it's been a delight so far this season.  I saw it just now and it's been updated from the weekend.

Thank God for that clock.

Its broken, it doesnt run on batteries. It needs a cherry picker and a specialist repair man to be available at the same time. Not logistically that easy to organise.
