Rumoured that Mickey Doyle RB formerly of Morton and Alloa could be heading our way. Apparently he has been training with Alloa. Looked a decent enough player.

Would be a good signing fingers crossed.

What a dismal start the season this has been regarding publicity, marketing and signings from Queens. Even the guys that are supposed to be the mouthpieces for the BOD have followed suit and stayed quiet. What a pathetic way to run a football club, they should just put Queens up for sale and be done with it. There are a few fans I know who have other plans for this season rather than go and watch that unambitious shower. Relegated in our Centenary year, how disappointing!

Not sure if serious.  ^^^^

I've also been a bit critical of the PR and media output from the Club but in truth there was never going to be a lot of activity taking place until pre-season started and Naysmith had a look at more players. We signed Todd and Harkins early in the close season and re-signed Marshall earlier this week, the time elapsed between these signings has probably given the effect that little has been happening.  If we had waited and announced them all when pre-season started it would have generated more interest maybe.  I would say it's becoming more of  the norm for us now to be a club who waits to see how possible signings perform in pre-season and friendlies before deciding if they should be offered a deal.  As a matter of interest what should the " mouthpieces for the BOD" be coming  out and telling us that isn't covered on the OS.

He runs all day and is fine defensively, its just when he crosses the half way line he gets a bit of nose bleed and panic kicks in. By his own admission, his crossing is poor and more often than not when the ball got to him in the final third, the move broke down.

Great guy to have in the dressing room and his twitter updates are brilliant. Decent  full back  at this level, just don't expect to much from him in an attacking sense!

Hopefully he does sign for you, deserves to stay full time in the Championship!

That first paragraph basically describes Jordan Marshall, although at the tail end of last season he showed signs of improvement in the final third.  Only he can say whether that was down to Naysmith's influence or his own hard work.  If it's the former then hopefully he could have the same effect on Doyle if he were to sign.

Sounds like exactly the sort of player we are after, and he is a national hero.  Sign him up Gaz!

Good luck to Derek Lyle who has signed for Peterhead

Presume he's still reasonably fit as he played a good number of games last season?

Although maybe he should have signed for Clyde if this is true-

Yeah hes still as fit as a fiddle. Reckon he will still do a job for yous! He was as good as ever up until November then after a sustained spell on the bench looked to have lost that bit of sharpness to play at our level.

Don't think the nosebleed idiom works here at all. He has no issues with getting into the final third regularly and repeatedly, in fact he is always bombing forward asking for it. The issue is indeed just his crossing which is terrible, and he admits that. Apparently puts lots of extra training in to try to improve it but it isn't working.

Great character to have at the club, real motivator and you will love him for that. Legendary tweets. Playing headers with kids in the front row and stewards when play has stopped.

Defensively sound for this level. If you play wingers to take over the crossing, you will be fine.

Also handy and acting as a fireman if the need arises.

Aye fair point, not a nosebleed as such, as you say, keen to get involved, its just when he gets involved...it breaks down!

How does it take us that long to sign a player ?.

Doyle would be perfect for us but it seems Naysmith and the board take forever to sign a player .

I realise money is very tight but other clubs like Morton just identify a player they want then go and sign him .

The process of identifying a player and then signing them isn’t an easy process.

Players will hang about for ages to see what offers they get and unless the club go and offer more money straightaway it can take a while before the club signs them. Other things like players going on holiday and having trials at other clubs will mean that signings can be delayed.
