Be realistic here. Can make the offer but he will be at a far bigger club than us come the start of season. Hopefully the club do have a few names up their sleeve though. Yes we could mount a serious effort to sign Reilly, offer him big money to keep him here for "years to come", what happens if/when we need to replace Dobbie or have to replace 2 or 3 players next season? Try and scrape up more cash because we've paid it all out to sign Reilly.? Fair enough if we could get outside finance as with Dobbie but the simple fact is that we are left at Matalan level of purchases, not even M&S level never mind Saville Row. Harkins probably won't be on a small wage either which maybe took a fair skelp of the budget.
