I think if it went up to £20 we would lose a few fans, £20 for watching a championship team would be robbery in my opinion, especially when the football is bad to watch at times.
Didn't agree with your opinion but hopefully you appreciate it more than an immature "shut up."

I know for a fact that there are many fans including several wealthy businessmen who will not set foot in Palmerston until the current chairman has left the club.

As a result they are not spending on hospitality, advertising, shirt draw sponsorship, season tickets etc.

This combined with other factors such as “the Rangers vote”, poor performances at home, style of play, lack of youth coming through the turnstiles, smoking ban, the weather, 6 nations on tv, seats covered in bird mess!!.......etc have slowly lead to a decline in attendances and income.

I would be in favour of significantly increasing the adult pay at the gate price to say £18 but freezing the price of a season ticket to try and encourage more fans to buy one, whilst at the same time rewarding loyal fans. This would benefit the club as we would have more money paid up front and we would also make more from away fans, especially those clubs that have a healthy away support. Thoughts???

If me I would put it up to £20 for a adult a big jump from £16  but I am sure the 1200  odd fans s just now would pay that.

If you could more or less say that we could watch a decent performance, then money is no object. However, the cack that has been served up at Palmerston this season has been barely worth £6 to see.

No really fans then in my opinion. I'd still go to Palmerston even if Kim Jong-un was Chairman. Grew up supporting Queens and love the club, the things you mentioned are pretty petty excuses. Aye a couple of them are annoying like the bird sh*t on the seats but other than that then they're just pointless excuses because these days most people would rather sit on their arse at home watching the football on the tele.
In my opinion, even if it went up by £2 then we still wouldn't be making much profit because I think we'd give more fans an excuse not to turn up and even on a good day playing a team with a decent away support it would only be roughly about £4000 extra, if we aren't paying for things like getting the graffiti removed and the bird crap cleaned up now then I doubt we'd do it with a bit extra income.
I think we have to come to terms that we probably won't improve when it comes to attendances and making a few bob, unless we got promoted.

How long does the old stand have left? Was it not mentioned a while back that it didn't have too long left?

The main stand has been up since the early Sixties, so is approaching 60 years old with the roof covered in moss.  The present BOD seem to have a plan to rebuild with a casino and various other businesses included that seems a rather pie in the sky idea.

I remember remarking at the time that it looked like a decent support bill in need of a headliner. I don’t think the poor sales were down to the peculiarities of the local market. That bill would have struggled to sell tickets anywhere.

Agree entirely. I was at the Status Quo gig and enjoyed it. Not a huge Quo fan but wanted to support the venture and Quo are well known enough and have the core following to be able to carry it off. There was definitely plenty of aging denim on show.
I don’t know whether any money was made but you’d assume so or a second wouldn’t have been planned. Unfortunately I suspect most folk only know a couple of Boomtown rats songs- always going to be a struggle for them to headline.
Personally hope there’s another go at this with a more sensible lineup.

There’s no way we can afford to lose another £102,000 next year.

Major investment from somewhere or someone else is vital if we’re to stay full time

The accounts are for last season .

This season has been no better and we have the cost of upgrading the  floodlights to add in  so will it even more of a loss this season .

Naysmith will have to have his budget cut for next season will have to play the young players .

The Messiah has signed on for another year so full time football for our Centenary year looks to be safe. How long the Board can continue with full time football, and all that that entails, with crowds of 1200 is  anyone's guess. But agree with Northfield that Gary Naismith will have to play young players or magic some loan deals from contacts.
