Russell so far seems to spend a lot of time coming deep and collecting the ball, so has rarely been close enough to the goal to score (obv something changed today - wasn't there). Haven't seen enough of Conroy to comment yet. Seems to have a cracking left peg on him and is a natural wide man... You don't have any centre halfs for us do you??? We had Ryan on trial for 2 or 3 weeks back in January but opted not to sign him. He scored a couple of goals in bounce games though and generally seems to have done well enough to have been under serious consideration. We more or less turned Russell into a left winger in his time with us though he did still occasionally play up front. I imagine the coming deep thing is more as a result of the way he's played the last three seasons. He's a natural goalscorer though and he'll grab his share. Still good enough for double figures every season at this level despite not generally playing as an out and out forward. If he's playing in a front two a level down he'll get at least 15. Conroy's second spell with us didn't really work out. We had high hopes for him after a decent previous spell here and doing well with Dundee and Raith, and his first 3 or 4 appearances were outstanding. He scored in our opening two games, the second one being our goal of the season (and probably our goal of the century) and hit woodwork from another 3 or 4 free kicks in that time but after his first month he just faded out really. He's all left foot but that foot is a wand. He prefers often to come off the right side and cut in on goal though than play left. We sometimes used him centrally behind the strikers too but his lack of pace is an issue in a wide role. Not sure how much that will affect him a level down but suspect he'll do very well.
trotsky27
Josh Todd played as trialist for Dumbarton yesterday a thought if Dunfermline didn't want him we would be straight in there for himObviously not what a shambles of a club penny pinching on signings this is going to be a long season with that squad as none of them young 20s boys are ready or good enough for the championship they soon get found out no wonder the season tickets ain't selling

Northfield 53
Skelton has said that he wants Todd but the fee is the big problem. Surely we could loan a player to Annan pay the players wage to cover the fee. In saying that if Dunfermline don,t want him is he good enough for us.

Northfield 53
Did Queens play well today ? Young team out today . How did Brown play worth signing or need another look.
trotsky27
We did play very well against a team of hackers tbh and brown is ok kind of how Dumbarton fans described him nothing special but would do a job. We desperately need a left winger.
Northfield 53
Wonder if we could somehow get Carmichael back on loan. Needs games we could give him that then back to Hibs in the New Year. Was sub for Hibs today so must now be fit over his injury problems.
NM_1919
I think he'll want to stay try prove himself under Lennon. Really hope we're not finished with transfer business, obviously performances in friendlies have been promising but still in need of a couple of players. Hopefully some signings this week, fingers crossed.

So guess at least one more or possibly two coming in

Should do ok in league 2 right? Hard to say. He played very well for us when he first joined us as a player coach but pretty much stopped playing after becoming manager. He last played first team in late 2014 and cant have played more than 3 or 4 Development games since then. Think he played 45 mins last year. He certainly is still young enough and will be easily good enough for that level but he hasnt played in 18 months basically.
