Today's walk

Good going, Philpy. Your walk was almost as long as your link.

Just over a week since I went back to seriously watching what I eat, couple that in with starting the gym and the treadmill (walking 5kmph speed) every second night and I'm happy to report a 6lbs loss in 8 days [emoji106][emoji106][emoji106]
So after the full 2 weeks I've managed to shift 7lbs.
The loss will obviously slow down now but I'm not too fussed about the overall weight, if I notice trousers getting a bit looser at the waist I'll be happy.
I've settled into the dieting quite well, during the day has always been a piece of piss, it was a night time I always felt the need to graze on absolute garbage but managed to get that down to just a chocolate digestive before I go to bed.
Here's a question for anyone in the know....
I absolutely love fruit, I usually have my "5 a day" at work, but at night time I always rattle another 6 or 7 portions of fruit. During the day at work I'll have a tub of chopped melon and pineapple, an apple, a tangerine and a plum and when I'm sitting at night I'll have a full punnet of grapes, a banana, another tangerine and more melon. Is the fructose or natural sugars in this bad, or will it make not much difference?

Too much fruit can be counterproductive, because it’s still essentially sugar, you’re just getting extra vitamins as well as the sugar. Try and lower the fruit at bedtime, will be good for your blood sugar in the long run as well as your waist.

Eat fruit only in the mornings, maybe a little at lunch. Don't have it for dinner or late on.
Cheers lads. I had a sneaky feeling it wouldn't be doing me much good, and without reading into it (which I was doing to do this week) I knew someone on this thread would have some kind of answer.

End of the day, for losing weight, it doesnt really matter how much fruit you eat as long as you are maintaining a calorie deficit.

Finally under the 100kg mark, now at 98.6kg which I'm chuffed about. That's since January. One more pound and that's two stone.

Had a week in Scotland last week and amongst eating all the unhealthy shit and drinking a fair few cans of T, managed to walk 30 miles with my old man.

Since returning South though, I've developed tonsillitis, something I have never had before. This is day three of it and I feel like utter shite, my diet has gone out the window as I'm struggling to eat anything solid. Just living on frozen bottles of water. Hoping it will clear up soon and I can get back to the gym to lose the final two stone.

I'm still struggling with it but managing 20 minutes alternating between 9 and 12 km/h. Was at the gym last night and usually don't like going 2 nights running, but might go again tonight so I have time to go for a run outside tomorrow to see what I can manage there. Will see what time I get away from the office before I make my mind up on that.

Well, went out for a run tonight. 6.8km in 40:35 according to Strava. Frustrating that a few years ago I was doing 10km in a wee bit more than that time wise, but pleased enough given i’ve had a wee bit of a cold the last few days and I spent most of the run bursting for a shite. I reckon I could manage a couple of km more at the same pace without too much effort, but will concentrate on the gym stuff still with the odd sporadic run for the hell of it.

You should've just jumped behind a bush and done a Paula Radcliffe, or alternatively...

Fortunately I was in control the whole way. Had I stayed out another few km I might have been posting an altogether different update mind you.

I've dropped the whack of nine stone since May last year, felt my motivation to stay fit wobble slightly recently, been back on the bevvy a bit more than usual.

That's absolutely superb Comrie.
Any weight loss is decent but that's an absolute triumph.
I know its a cliche and a bit obvious, but that's f*cking life changing man.
Well chuffed for you [emoji106][emoji106]

Superb mate.  Really impressive.  Makes my 3 stone recently look pathetic.  c**t ;).  Nah seriously, so much respect for that.

I wouldn't worry too much about a wobble, it happens and let's be honest, you've earned a wee break.   Key is to enjoy what you're doing in terms of diet and exercise I suppose, so if you're not getting that anymore then maybe time to mix it up.  Maybe set yourself a goal like a race or something?

Having the marathon in my sights has ensured I keep up the intensity of my training despite now being at a weight I'm pretty comfortable with.

I've been on the treadmill every night and while I'd like to walk more, the knees won't allow it. I've been managing to do 3 mins brisk walk at 5.3 kmph followed by a 1 min jog at 7 kmph.
Only just incorporated the jogging in the other night and was dripping with sweat and gasping a bit after 25 mins.
I'm sure it'll get easier [emoji849]
