I did find it odd they were televising it again seeing as both Mick Kennedy and the players said it's pretty standard fare for most games.

One for Darvel fans to ponder but did it  work against them ultimately as he knew he'd need to top the Aberdeen one in some respects and "please" the audience.

We'll never know what McGlynn said exactly but it's left me buzzing this morning 🤗

Maybe it’s five years in the wilderness really sinking in. Just a slight chink that we’re 90 minutes away from Hampden which if someone had said a few months back, I wouldn’t have believed.

Ayr game weekend 11th March. Due to play Montrose away. Interesting that we’ve now got two games that now need scheduling midweek. My guess is that it will suit Fife to keep on running down games. I’m assuming the protocol is fully with the home club to set a date ?

I think both clubs may have been waiting to see if you’d progress in the cup first. Fully expect that game will be announced this week at some point for a midweek in March.

This would have made sense earlier in the cup competition when both clubs being eliminated would have opened up a weekend to play the game but at this later stage, league 1 doesn’t bother taking the cup weekends off.

Dunfermline absolutely mustn’t be allowed to drag it into April and get the last derby of the season at EEP. It must be played before the 8th April game at TFS.

Quite an exciting end to the season coming up for us with an opportunity to earn the right to play at Hampden and then likely playoffs after that. It’s the first time in years that Falkirk fans are approaching the run in with anything but utter dread.

Not exactly. If BBC Scotland fancy sticking you on the telly again for a fee then you’ll not be wanting that midweek will you?

Edit - and I’d be shocked if this game didn’t go ahead before 8th April. We’ve already established no more Saturdays free so it’s going to be a midweek.

Call to ALL Falkirk fans who are buzzing about the Cup 1/4 final.

If you want to see your team get this sort of game on a regular basis, if you possibly can, get your hand in your pocket and join FSS. We can be a club for the fans run by the fans and the good times can be regular. You know it makes sense. COYB

I thought Darvel’s manager’s arrogance or naivety cost them. “Oh we play open attacking football no matter who we play” played into our hands. Where have we struggled this season? When teams have sat in, given us the ball and said come and break us down. Darvel pushed on, left loads of space down the flanks and in behind and it was always going to cost them as our pace just killed them.

They had their time in the spotlight and well done Darvel in their cup run a remarkable achievement. Their manager milked it and hoped for a complacent Falkirk turning up.

Unlike Aberdeen Falkirk came out the traps and the rest is history.

Just glad the games over.

I can't remember the last time I watched a full re-run straight after coming home from a match.

Well done to the whole team and coaching staff for doing a professional job, if there had been any passengers we would have been another scalp for them and it was easy to see how they had got to this position.

It was great to see us playing as a unit for a whole match and I wouldn't be too hard on the keeper for their goal, that was a tough one and he had a great game.

That speech though, GTF!

Clearly looking to better his Aberdeen speech in order to keep TV happy, and it ended up being a bit cringe. I was waiting for a fade in of Josh Groban’s  “You Raise Me Up”, but the BBC didn’t deliver.

Enjoyed the highlights but my goodness, when Oliver scored you'd think by the commentator's reaction that we were the minnows!
(BBC production team saying to themselves "that was not in the script")

Loved the roar of our fans as the goals went in and seeing them around the ground reminded me of a cold night at Meadowbank many years ago when we filled the stand, and the cerry-oot brigade surrounded the perimeter.

Question I have is whether this cup run will help our financial predicament somewhat. Then again, questions like that can wait for a while. It's the time to celebrate and continue to revel in this rather enjoyable season.

P.S

Wonder what kind of speeches our frauds of managers past inflicted on their charges before games -that'd would be worth a laugh if the end result weren't so painful!

He was there. As a general rule the injured players usually go to all the games, as do the youngsters and sometimes those out on loan. If you were looking closely you would also have seen Paul Watson and Ryan Williamson.

All the injured lads were there, Williamson and Watson having a laugh with some fans, Watson saying he'll be back for the semis! Noticed cup tied Allan was there and a few of the guys we have out on loan. Only person I didnt see was Meekison.
