RC55 FFC
Safely through to the next round of the cup & good away day . Cracking Bairns support through too . Unless we sign a recognised/experienced striker, I’d be starting Burrell next week. Oliver works hard but is no lone attacker.

Said this before the last round draw. They get a much bigger support for the cup games and also Celtic are likely to give us a tanking.

In his favour, he doesn’t lack commitment or effort. I thought Alloa were good today for 35 mins . However their tat-tic of harrowing is at every opportunity was destined to run out of steam ! When they did we started to pick holes in their tiring defense especially after Burrell came on and used his pace to great effect. Great tat-tic by McGlynn to realize they would tire and keep us keep with our passing game. Pretty annoying therefore every week to listen to Falkirk tv explain what Mcglynn has done wrong ,how he should change it ! They even have the audacity to explain every week how we have set up wrong and even how we should change shape to counter the opposition. I like Lewis he does a great job but this continuous advice he gives to the management gets on my tits . Just commentate on the action and keep your tactical expertise for your five a side please! -

Yeah, it’s so negative and at times embarrassing. It’s almost as if he and to an extent Stuart, relish when we are having a bad spell. It’s not just tactics, it’s observations about people’s best and natural positions. Confidence and morale in the squad etc. This has only crept into the commentary in the last year or so. Of course, it happens here as well, the Oliver v Burrell debate for example. One up front v two up front.. I think most Falkirk fans trust and believe in our manager now and can see what he’s trying to build. With all his experience, analysis of the opposition, training with the players all week, why do we all at some point insist on telling him how to do his job? . yeah I know, that’s Fitba.

Who’d have guessed it, football commentators analysing a football match. Totally unacceptable.

You don't often get the football commentator stating that a manager should've done this or that. Sometimes perhaps the co commentator as an exe player and definitely the pundits in the studio but not the commentator.

I don’t have any issue with them analyzing the match it’s them interjecting with their advice as to where he’s going wrong and how we should correct it that’s the annoying part especially given as far as I’m aware neither have played the game at any decent level. Don’t get me wrong I think overall they do an excellent job but recently they have strayed from opinion to advice .
PedroMoutinho
Previously the Falkirk TV guys were criticised for being too deferential to the team and management, now they’re seemingly too critical. I suspect they just can’t win tbh.
FFC 1876
Excellent movement from Burrell for his goal, attacking the near post perfectly. Another assist each for our two wingers too.
Ecosse83
Didn’t get to the game today but another win in what was probably a very tough cup fixture. I really don’t get the negativity of some posters on here. We’re eventually on the up just bloody enjoy it !!
NavyBlueArmy1876
The Falkirk TV guys talk a genuinely incredible amount of shite. Didnt realise just how bad it was until watching live games under lockdown. I dont think they're particularly negative or positive, but a big improvement would be sticking to just describing the action as it happens
GunnerBairn
How the ref never gave a pen for the tackle on Blaine I’ll never know. Looked a pen at the match and even worse on FalkirkTV Still no penalty awarded to us all season I believe.
Big chungus
I do agree with the point about Burrell being very effective coming off the bench. Whereas, Gary Oliver most likely, wouldn’t be. However, I make that 9 goals in all competitions for Burrell this season. Our second highest goal scorer just behind CM7. Considering he’s played about 10 games less that’s pretty good going. Therefore, imo it would be daft leaving him on the bench. All being said and stating the bleedin obvious we do need to sign another striker. Bigbri Bairn
That goal from Burrell was a lot better than I saw at the game. A real strikers goal

I was thinking that myself tbf - bit a running joke now. Off the top of my head I can count about 5 incidents when we should have been awarded a penalty. Crazy stuff!
