NavyBlueArmy1876
The Falkirk TV guys talk a genuinely incredible amount of shite. Didnt realise just how bad it was until watching live games under lockdown. I dont think they're particularly negative or positive, but a big improvement would be sticking to just describing the action as it happens
GunnerBairn
How the ref never gave a pen for the tackle on Blaine I’ll never know. Looked a pen at the match and even worse on FalkirkTV Still no penalty awarded to us all season I believe.
Big chungus
I do agree with the point about Burrell being very effective coming off the bench. Whereas, Gary Oliver most likely, wouldn’t be. However, I make that 9 goals in all competitions for Burrell this season. Our second highest goal scorer just behind CM7. Considering he’s played about 10 games less that’s pretty good going. Therefore, imo it would be daft leaving him on the bench. All being said and stating the bleedin obvious we do need to sign another striker. However, still yet to receive a penalty in the league.
Bigbri Bairn
That goal from Burrell was a lot better than I saw at the game. A real strikers goal

Rare all the same and wondering if we can go the whole season without being awarded one in the league. Wouldn’t be at all surprised, watch this space...

I was thinking that myself tbf - bit a running joke now. Off the top of my head I can count about 5 incidents when we should have been awarded a penalty. Crazy stuff!

No need to shoehorn Donaldson in. Dawson Park Boy
8 hours ago, Brockvillenomore said: Yeah, it’s so negative and at times embarrassing. It’s almost as if he and to an extent Stuart, relish when we are having a bad spell. It’s not just tactics, it’s observations about people’s best and natural positions. Confidence and morale in the squad etc. This has only crept into the commentary in the last year or so. Of course, it happens here as well, the Oliver v Burrell debate for example. One up front v two up front.. I think most Falkirk fans trust and believe in our manager now and can see what he’s trying to build. With all his experience, analysis of the opposition, training with the players all week, why do we all at some point insist on telling him how to do his job? . yeah I know, that’s Fitba. You’re last sentence answers your question perfectly. The beauty of being a football fan is that you think you’re an expert. Thats what it’s all about!
Springfield
Watched the highlights, defence sleeping at Alloa goal, and Alloa had more chances over the piece. A game we would have lost last season,. McGlynn after match interview “playing crap, and winning games” and let’s face it we’ve not seen that for a long bloody time. Our keeper still worries me and his distribution/positioning is at times very poor. Cup is still a side show for me and league points far more important. Hope McGlynn gets a break with signings which we desperately need. With our noisy neighbours out cup, interesting to see where they’ll date the re-arranged game.

Bairney The Dinosaur
I'd argue FalkirkTV is in the top 10 of live coverage and highlight packages in Scotland - and absolutely the best outside the premiership - so long as you mute it.

AL-FFC
Couldn't make the game yesterday but worst thing was the goal flash on Radio Scotland to announce the Alloa goal and saying Raith finding themselves a goal down in the cup against Alloa.. wtf

Stuart Mccafferty. I think it's an excellent service, the commentary at times can get annoying but it would't be a simple task trying to remain unbiased whilst watching us play. Also easy to forget how much the FTV boys are giving up in order to put the streams on every week.
Bairn in Exile
Am I correct in thinking that while we have to pay for the FTV service that the co-commentators work on a voluntary, unpaid basis? If that indeed is the case, maybe we should cut them a bit of slack? Or somebody else could always volunteer to do it? Anyway, FTV is the only way that I can see us play for most of the season, unless I am back home for a couple of weeks holiday, so I am extremely grateful that the facility is there, no matter who the commentators are. Before that I was like @Long Suffering Bairn, relying on Sky Sports or the SPFL website for live text updates. As @Bairney The Dinosaur says, there is always the mute button.

One of them operates the camera and the other does media stuff like tweeting during the game and putting out the team lineups. Stuart and Lewis do the commenting and most of the technical stuff involved involved in setting the thing up. FFCTV wouldn't be where it is today without the two of them and the humongous amount of hours that they've put in every week for years.
