You can go even further back though. The club are starting behind clubs with much smaller fan bases because of the overheads we have at the stadium. It’s an absolute killer financially.

Don’t think that’s true, we’ve consistently funded better playing budgets than most teams in the championship never mind in our league. The simple problem is we have wasted that money on terrible players and management teams. Closing the academy hasn’t t helped matters either.

True but then plenty of money was wasted in January. Said at the time only the BoD would know financially how much of a risk it was to bring in Griffiths and it didn’t pay off. That money could have been used to help sort this squad out. Same with the Finlay Malcolm contract. At least we didn’t have to pay off Rennie anyway.

If the Board had downed tools in January and not given the manager backing to try and get to the play offs you and plenty others would have given them pelters. They could have done nothing else but take a punt in January. Not sure how much they spent in January - will no doubt come out in the wash at the AGM

McCann is not dross. The rest I'll give you.

Obviously depending on whether PJ or McKay are available, nest week I'd go:

                        PJ

     Donaldson, McKay, Mackie

  Ross, Yeats, McGinn, McCann

                     Lawal

                Oliver, Burrell

Ross? Ffs 😳

Been through this a few times the council screwed the club big time weel seeing it was a Labour Council who have never had goodwill towards the club ( too many old firm supporters for my liking Goldie for example )

Imagine owning seats but not the stands they sit on compounded by owning the pitch but not the ground it occupies.

In other words our share of the stadium is worthless and therefore cannot be used as collateral for any loans.

Was against it from the start and as hard as it would have been should have redeveloped Brockville bit by bit.

How much would it cost to buy out the council share and their ownership of the surrounding land for example the car park?

Take out a loan on say a 40 year mortgage.

When we moved to the Stadium the council was SNP controlled

That’s rubbish. Why would I throw caution to the wind before signing Griffiths and then later complain for not signing him!?

Wtf are you taking about?

I said if back in January the club didn’t try and boost the squad and keep all the cash to clear out the squad in the summer they would have got pelters.
The reality of situation is whether it was January or now we had a squad that was not good enough, signed on contracts that were too long and you can see the result of it now.

For me you can add to that the money spent on renting a training ground and bringing in youngsters.

Both nice to haves but shouldn’t have been priorities with the state of the first team Imo.

When the alternative is Williamson then, yes, I think it's worth a try.

He can’t run. You need someone who can get up and down all day for that role.

If the new board hadn’t backed the manager with cash in the last January window and made the effort at promotion there would have been absolute uproar. The comment BPM makes is totally fair, we were only a few points off the play off places! Look what QP done who weren’t much better than us and finished 4th…..Apart from anything else we had to give the new manager cash if only to prevent us getting drawn into relegation bother things were that bad!

What are we spending on the training ground?

Would we have had to close the academy if we weren’t blowing so much on using the stadium every year though? Other clubs with similar facilities to us are generating income on non-match days and would appear to have much more agreeable costs.

As for having bigger playing budgets - have we not blown over £800k over the last couple of years?

Well what are you talking about as I merely mentioned Griffiths and you somehow changed that in to an accusation that I would have criticised the board had they not backed the manager. Griffiths was only going to play for a few months at a high cost. That was the risk I referred to and nothing to do with backing. The money would have been better saved or spent elsewhere.

Forgetting Griffiths. What of Finlay Malcolm then? What was the purpose of signing him till the end of this season?

So the  old mob rightly get grief for wasting money on dross but the new lot deserve credit for wasting £1500 a week on a fat waste of space?

Where did I say that? If it was £1500/week it probably cost 16 weeks tops at that price. My point is had they not tried to get to the play offs the fans would not have been happy.
The last lot blew 750 grand we had in the bank last May and a lot of that cost is still with us. Let’s not forget pay offs to Sheerin and Grainger - I wonder how much that cost? The AGM should be interesting.

That’s not what I said. I specifically talked about Griffiths. Also Queens Park is a prime example of another mistake made, which in this case it was appointing Rennie.

All I’m saying is mistakes have been made, not trying to castigate anyone for it but fed up constantly hearing that the old board is at fault for everything. Wasn’t a fan but they also blamed mistakes on previous boards.

Signing Griffiths specifically is irrelevant, the BOD should not be dictating to the manager who he spends his playing budget on.

It’s exactly what you’re saying! One lot are getting grief for spunking money on shite and new lot are  somehow deserving of praise for doing the exact same thing. You’re even doing it in that post, justifying blowing tens of thousands of pounds on a player who lost interest in football about 3 years ago just because for some reason you feel the need to defend every decision the new guys make.
