The Falkirk FC Thread

Recommended Posts

My long gone Dad reckoned White was the best player he ever saw in a Falkirk shirt. Don’t think he ever saw Crunchie though.
He reckoned White really was a ghost. Just this frail looking laddie who would appear from nowhere to score or set up a goal. He only had a season and a wee bit with us before Spurs came calling.
John White missed 15 games at Spurs and they only won once without him on the team.

That was the first British team to win a European Trophy, first English double of the twentieth century & a side packed full of international players, like Bill Brown, Danny Blanchflower, Maurice Norman, Dave Mackay, Cliff Jones, Bobby Smith, Terry Medwin & Jimmy Greaves.

From a colleague (work related only)that supports RR, two players to join us. Don’t have anything confirmed so with it being the silly time for “make believe” I will treat as nonsense.

One of my pupils is a RR fan and was saying the same to me this morning. Could be a load of hokum right enough.

My aunties hairdresser is married to a Raith Rovers fan, and she’s just told me the same, one possibly two players. She’s never told me anything like this before though so unsure if it’s true or not.

Lots of talk about pitch invasions on TV now. The shameful pitch invasion by an out of shape 50+ Montrose fan at the Falkirk stadium last season was the limit though, running from the away end he dispossessed Nisbett ran through 3 midfield tackles before nutmegging Ben Hall and slotting past Mutch before being apprehended by a steward 😆

Don’t mind a good, old fashioned pitch invasion tbh but when it’s earned. As in a cup win, league win or a big last minute goal even.

But we are seeing pitch invasions now for staying up or winning just a play off semi FFS.

My father was of the same opinion stating that his footballing brain was 2 moves ahead of everybody else on the park and a lot of the fans.

Dennis Law once said 'If John had lived Scotland would have qualified for the 66 world and England would not have won it'
