First season in how many?🤣 diddy club behaviour from one of the smallest in the league tbh, #YouveGotNoFans

First since the season before as well? Imagine being the 28th best team in Scotland the season after being the 27th... #massive #gargantuan

Since when did Size only mean position on pyramid? Christ alive, bitter Airdrie fans, wouldn't think you have just reached a playoff final, obsessed with the big boys

A rather decent pub team in comparison.

Falkirk should be beaming with embarrassment.

We are and have been for 4 seasons now. Enjoy your glory years of finishing above us for a few season, it won’t last long mate!

Who mentioned size? I was only talking about playing success or the lack thereof.

The Airdrie fans meltdown over our 'dwindling' crowds is some laugh. A bit of context since the turn of the century

They jump around a bit depending on how good a season we're having, plus whether the likes of Sevco, Hearts, Hibs, Dunfermline and Dundee United were knocking about in the Championship. Even the likes of St Mirren and Partick probably brought more in one visit than our entire away followings at TFS last season.

Taking an average across every season in each league, you can probably simplify it down to around 3.5k in League 1, 4.5k in the Championship and 5.5k in the Premiership. Or roughly 500 extra home fans and 500 extra away fans each time we go up a league.

We won't be going part time any time soon with 2.5k ST sales and 3,500 punters through the turnstiles every week. However, we will continue to sign Airdrie's best players whenever we feel like it.

Actually think there's scope to grow our baseline home crowd even beyond the level we saw in the top flight. The area's population has grown a fair bit since we were last in that division. Appreciate a lot of that will be due to us becoming more of a commuter town but over time it's not unthinkable that we can start converting some of those arrivals into fans if we can have some level of success.

10 words and an acronym and you needed an edit? Jesus. 😂

You average 2 man and a dug on a saturday FFS. We're still getting more than we got in the champ ten years ago.Even if our support halved it would still be double yours FFS. We've both got shit league one fitbaw teams. Yours currently a better one than ours after that the similarity ends.

So both teams are shite at the moment Yours has been shite  for far longer than ours. In fact since the day it was formed basically in 2002 it's been pretty miserable.

I cant say for sure, but I'm not convinced we were doing as much then to get young fans through the door either. The growth in population you speak of in the area seems to be primarily great big estates of family sized homes. The schools being at breaking point around the area speak to that also, so yeah, someone really competent at initiatives to get the next generation of young fan badgering their folks to take them along should have a fair old hunting ground to work with...

Agree, but it’s been a hard sell over the past few seasons. Add on the academy shutting has probably lost some (many)young potential families, which has set us back years.

A good marketing campaign and things like free school tickets to secondary schools could help getting the younger generation to watch the club, think we’ve only done primary previously.

Put the North Stand to good use and create a better atmosphere.

IF, and its a big if, McGlynn can get us playing good football at the top end of the league, that's the easiest sell ever because the young ones DGAF about the last few years of turgid shite or what league we are in. Get them through the gate to watch goals and wins and soon they will be as invested in deluding themselves and being miserable as the rest of us.
