Believe The Hype
I can completey see the point about Griffiths needing service and don't think we can compare kabia and Dowds getting goals as to some sort of proof that the service is there. Dowds and kabia work their arses off and make chances for themselves, that's part of their game. Griffiths isn't this type of player, for him to pay off we need to get the ball to him first which we just can't seem to do.

That viewpoint moves us dangerously close to the signing of Griffiths, without bolstering the midfield, becoming a colossal error of judgement then.

Exactly, for him to work we have to have a team that brings out his best attribute which is finishing. He can't finish if he doesn't have the ball, and has never been a work horse to get it himself. So when it was shown we do no have the players to get him the ball playing this style of football, then that's when rennie should be changing up the style of play. I really think playing all 3 should be the next step.

He was an unproven youth. It's not a fair comparison at all. Well you are never going to have direct comparison then because we have never signed a player in that particular situation. I take you are in the same camp that if you don't score within your first 2 hours of playing time then its a bad signing? He is surrounded by a who's who of the worst full time players in Scotland. Unless he takes the ball and runs past 3 or 4 players from his own half, he is relying on set pieces to make an impact as we create nothing for him at all.

He was a young loanee. You can compare the two of them in their latter days, you can't compare what we signed though. Bit disingenous IMO Is Griffiths a marquee signing? He certainly generated interest and if he signed him after scoring goals for fun at Dundee it would be but it was well documented he was on a slippery slope. It is a massive gamble than needs other components such as service from midfield and a steady defence to make his goals translate into wins instead of draws.
Believe The Hype
Let's face it, our defence and midfield are shite, play all 3 strikers and hope we can score one more than the opposition for the next 10 games. We have nothing to lose at this point.

Plenty have voiced their disapproval on here. I'm by no means thinking he's our saviour but he needs at least 5/6 games before folk jump to conclusions.

Stick Miller and McCann as FBs - with Watson & young lad CBs - take a pick out of the eight or so midfielders we have on our books. Johnny Tee
At 1-0 down on Tuesday, the Falkirk subs came round to the front of the South Stand for a limbering up, Griffiths included. Probably didn’t hear me but I enquired of him rather loudly, why he wanted to play for this sh*te hole of a club and perhaps he should have taken up the offer from St Mirren instead ? Didn’t get a response, but other than the money, why did he sign for FFC? I try to remain optimistic about reaching the play offs but based on Tuesday’s performance it will not happen. I’m expecting the same kind of game and struggle against East Fife tomorrow - and the result could go anyway. Failure to beat the bottom club will surely end any remaining slim hopes of 4th place, with a play off place in the bottom half becoming more likely? Is the club in such a mess that there is now no longer any short term fix possible? Hard to bear, but after nearly 60 years as a fan, you just can’t walk away
Guest
It’s not individual talent that is killing us. It’s having a midfield and defence who for the most part, just aren’t doing the simplest of things well. Two stills from Tuesday. Peterhead are making the break leading to their goal. Our back three looks pretty solid, and we have no less that 9 players (inc Mutch) involved in this, but we look “ok”. The second image though. A couple of players have just gone out of shot on the right, but only one Falkirk player is trying to read the danger in front of him. Every other Falkirk player (all 8 of them) are looking at the ball ( yer classic “ball watching”) and are oblivious to how many Peterhead players are around them. Only one player trying to read the game. Is it any wonder we are so awful at the back? There is no organisation at all. It’s like school football.

Aidan Nesbit, from the point where he needlessly lost possession, to when the ball went in was absolutely fucking pathetic during that.
Harry Kinnear
Dixons half hearted attempt at a clearance as well was a disgrace, he looked like he couldn’t be arsed, both when attempting the clearance and when the Peterhead player scored.

18BAIRN76
Touched on many times before, but we have way, way too many soft touches in our team. Just think about how other sides feel when they see our line-up announced and see they're playing against the some combinations of Telfer, McGuffie, Nesbitt, Williamson, Hetherington, ATS and McKay? They automatically know that if they win their battles, there is a decent chance the victory will follow. Tuesday was a prime example; how many times did our players just look absolutely fucking petrified?
Harry Kinnear
It does make you wonder if players get struck by the apathy bug as soon as they walk through our doors, especially when some go on to do okay at other clubs.
