That is correct as I understand it.

A BFL member can attend the FSS AGM and put themselves forward to serve as a director.

I wouldn't say he's unfit. He wouldn't be starting games for Dundee or offered a contract extension if he was, so I don't think we're talking full Gary O'Connor yet  

 

It's probably more the case that he simply cannot be arsed. Spunking the remainder of the budget on his wages when we could really do with a keeper, midfielder and two strikers is a total gamble imo

Let's remember Dundee, a premier league club, still think he has something to give otherwise they wouldn't have tabled an offer for him to stay at the club.

I reckon even if he gave 50% until the end of the season he would do well in this league.
Like some have said, give him a pay as you play/score type deal until may and then if it doesn’t work out he’s off somewhere we don’t have to care aboutz

I don’t get the need for two more strikers, anything we get at this point will be jersey filler material.
Midfielder, yes, we do need another player there to actually get us moving up the park.

Defence wise, I think once Dixon returns he should plug the gap enough until end of the season.

Dundee are a basket case though. If people think Dowds is out of shape they'll have a field day with Griffiths and his gut.

I can see what the thinking would be with this signing but surely we'd have been better splitting the wage between a midfielder and a striker? We could get two decent players for £750 a week each I'd have thought.

Personally I think the Garry O'Connor at Morton comparison is a good one. Griffiths is in worse nick physically than O'Connor was at that time.

There are a few on here who definitely seem to have an agenda that requires them to post negative comments on just about anything the new BoD and management team do even if it’s only unproven rumours.
The collective term for these people is arseholes.

The P&B term for them I believe is ‘arsehiles’

You are right the money would be better spent splitting between a half decent midfielder and striker. The problem is are there any actually available now? At least he is available right now. Or could we entice clubs to get guys on loan by paying a good chunk of their wages? What I do know is time is slipping away if we want to challenge for that 4th spot, which after Saturday might be a far harder challenge.

Whilst I'd be inclined to think even a half fit Griffiths would scoosh this league, the Dundee fans I know haven't been impressed with him. Saying that, they also though McDaid would do well for us

They did mention he's got an 8 game ban coming up for kicking a smoke bomb at St Johnstone fans, probably why he was offered a pay as you play deal

What a shambles. At the end of the day it's a hell of a climb down from what they were saying only a day or so ago.  Theyve completely shat the bed knowing there would be complaints but not realising the size of the problem. I just hope that all the folk that have pulled sponsorship stick to their guns until the bod and manager are replaced.

Disagree tbh. It was signing utter shite that got us in to this mess.

Bringing in cheap dross for the sake of making a signing is what has lead to having big squads but being stuck with the likes of Hall, Mercer, Ross, Leitch, Francis, Wilson, Ompreon etc 

No problem at all with playing 750 a week if they can contribute like McManus did.

As far a DGW goes I have no idea whether we bid for hiM, the rumours certainly suggest we made some sort of approach but nothing is concrete. I said at the time we should not sign him. The fallout at Raith shows that to be correct. 

I will allow Martin Rennie to make the call on Griffiths if it is true. At the end of the day if he thinks that Griffiths is worth that money he isn’t doing it without sitting down with him and discussing his situation. He will know much more than you whether he is washed up or not. You have no idea what is in his mind, Rennie will have a much better idea than you. If he signs and he is being paid what is rumoured and he doesn’t contribute then it will be on Rennie head. That is why he is employed.

I can tell you for one that unless we do bring in quality the thick end of Holt and Sheerin’s squad that you thought were the best in the league are going to cost us a hell of a lot more than it would signing Griffiths because we will be in this league next season for sure. Financially disastrous. It will be the second time Holts involvement in a Falkirk will have cost us big time. Now you are talking a complete waste of money! 
 

Believe what you like but you'll find no posts from me 'late October' talking up the players.  Based on what I was seeing at the time (since I was actually watching the matches) we were no worse than our main rivals and the likes of Morrison and Nesbitt were night and day v what Sheerin turned them into.
