Good to see we have written off the season based upon 78 seconds of football.

Oh come on, be fair. Some had written it off before a ball was kicked.

I believe Hearts had three players under 19 playing at the start today

They played Ayr United on Friday so it wouldn't be anywhere near a full strength side. No goals doesn't surprise me when we don't have a striker of any decent ability.

Come on some thought M&M were Clough and Taylor

I would be surprised if Sheerin believes Seb will be a regular starter. I also expect him to be a backup who might get some substitute appearances. Hetherington, Telfer, Morrison, McGuffie, Nesbit surely would be ahead of him on the pecking list. Interested to see how McGuffie and Nesbit get on being new signings and coming down a league. I rate Morrison fairly highly, think he'd shine a bit more if he had a quality striker to link with

Any more potential signings on the cards for the Bairns? Was Ruth linked?

The latter three are all wingers. If, as everything would suggest, the plan is to go with a narrow three in midfield, then Ross, as things stand, is a first choice. We don't have the alternative personnel to play anyone else.

Another thing about today. If the trialists are just to bulk up the squad then why are Dowds and Telfer starting on the bench?

I thought match fitness was just as important for players so surely if we’re not interested in the trialists then we’d be better off getting our signed players up to speed!?

Why don't we all go and support The Rangers? They win every week, concede few goals and have loads of goalscoring forwards. Sounds like what the cynics in here are looking for. Games on TV most weeks too.

If you’re that easily pleased why bother commenting on a forum and not just accept what you get week in, week out!? 🤷🏻‍♂️

That's exactly what we should be doing in league one . The fact we aren't confident about winning division 3 of Scottish football shows you how bad things have got. We should be able to stick a team together playing some decent football for this level and winning the league by a decent margin.

Dowds is pish TBF, but probably saving him for the less meaningful games coming up as we are treating every game as pre season.

In league one this is exactly what we should be doing (winning most weeks and topping the league) given our resources and the size of the clubs we are in completion against!

Hopefully from today Sheerin's realised how shite Hall is, unfortunately given Dixon wasn't even in the squad we can only assume he's injured. Which leaves us with Hall and Mckay as the centre back pairing which is absolutely rotten. 4 trialists in the squad again, BPM confirmed the starter was Jaime Wilson, John Robertson came off the bench as he's in the Hearts second half goal clip (number 9 again) and I assume one on the bench was a goalkeeper who looks to have been on for the Hearts 3rd goal as well.

Keena, Dixon, Nesbitt and Sneddon all missing from the matchday squad. Season starts next Tuesday. Magical.

The league cup results aren't important in the grand scheme of things but we should be using them to get our final starting 11 sorted out and used to playing each other.  We shouldn't be heading into them still looking to sign 5 or 6 players like we are currently.  Striking partnerships need time to develop as do other areas of the side. Different if you have some real continuity in your side but this is going to be a whole new side Virtually again. There's so much still needing done. The big concern is panic last minute signings as time starts to run out.

Until a fit and raring to go Keena appears in the starting line up, we seem to have absolutely zero goal scoring threat.

He might not be the great saviour we want him to be, but until January, it looks like he is our main man. Can he go 4 months without injury?

Today’s outing was a runaround. We have to belief in that, because there’s no evidence of anything better on the horizon.

If the rumours on how long he's out for are true he'll not have 4 months between being back.and January.

Indeed. So if he doesn’t return to first team duty until late September, that is going to be a big problem unless we suddenly transform ourselves into a team with “goal threats all over the park”.
