I think your friend is being very premature.

After 50 years during which he has seen some great times and some bad times, why would he give up now?

Obviously, not a real fan but still very sad.

...and why would he not be a rel fan ?  Perhaps he is going to pay at the gate?  Perhaps is more of a real fan than you ?? How do you quantify a real fan ?

Your regular reminder that 6-12 months ago everyone was so sick of MR and SA that they were desperate for the Rawlins to start shaking things up and to take control over every aspect of the club.

They're doing that now - did anyone realistically expect that everything would just stay the same (including personnel) but we'd magically get better?

This could still of course go horribly wrong but we chose this route and so let's see what happens.  Communication has been appalling but I suspect much to do with KK not being around.  As someone else said, we're late on things like new strip, ST sales, refunds etc but its not as though all other clubs in the league are announcing theirs so maybe the pandemic knocking usual timescales for everyone and we need to give a little more slack on some of these things.

Not defending how shit we've been at communication (particularly GD and the missing Q&A) but all over the last couple of months has not been bad.  Positives around clearing out the dross, development team created, new management team appointed etc.  Biggest negative for me so far (along with communication) are the 2/3 yr deals being handed out and too much authority being given to Holt.

Overall, I think we're at a point where we need to grit our teeth and hope the changes the Rawlins make see us start to improve.  We've tried almost everything else.  (and I include fan ownership of sorts  through SA and MR, fan representation on the board (bairns trust etc).

Personally I don't care whether the board are Falkirk fans or not as long as they look after the finances and on the pitch we head in the right direction.  Jury out on both but you'd think on here most days that we're days from liquidation.

Have you ever seen the movie the Dark Knight? There’s a good quote about how Batman squeezed the villains to a point of desperation where they turned to a man they didn’t fully understand.

That feels like us. We were so desperate for change that we welcomed the Rawlins in with open arms. We were also close to doing the same with Kenny Rogers!

Now, not saying that we’re Batman but it’s starting to feel to me that the new board are a bunch of jokers.

Well, he’s stopping being an ST holder so, by definition, he’s no longer a fan, real or otherwise.

I suppose you could go on a casual basis but, by any definition, that’s not being a real fan (fanatic).

Dont know what your problem is?

Are you for real ?  Are you insuating that fans that turn up week in week out, home and away who pay at the gate are not real fans (fanatics) ???

I agree with you regarding GD's need for communication but,  you can't label someone who after 50 years feels they need to show they are concerned "not a real fan".

I would rather he just kept quiet and out of the way TBH.

I get what you're saying here but I don't remember anyone sensible welcoming in Kenny Rogers.  The Rawlins have genuine experience and should have the knowledge to know what they're doing.

Tried to watch the Dark Knight but got bored by the self indulgent 45min car chase and switched off..

Problem is we don't actually know what they are doing.

Kenny Rogers was hailed a hero by many fawning over him at Behind the Goals. Just as well some of our fans did some research on him before our Board signed over the club to him.

Although...there are some who think he was an MSG stooge to make sure the fans ownership never took off. A case of better the Devil you know.....

A lot of fans were welcoming of Kenny Rogers. Maybe not sensible people but then seems there are severe sensible ITK people on here discussing some of the current board’s misgivings but noone wants to listen.

By the way, stick with the Dark Knight. It’s a good movie. Third one not so much.

What have the Rawlins actually done so far apart from their original investment and knocking back 600k ? They haven't increased their investment although we were told that was basically a done deal. We're still signing the same level of players we had previously really. Our new manager isn't anyone we couldn't have appointed before they arrived.  At the moment there's no strip to buy and no season tickets available. What the feck are they actually doing that's going to take the club to a new level because to me so far they've done hee haw .

Exactly this. The playing squad is just the same level of jobber we had last season,  hoping they somehow do better. No investment in the playing side, a total admin shambles off it.

What your views on fans who don't work Monday to Friday?, so buying a season ticket not feasible, but pay at gate, if off work or go to midweek games, put holidays in for big games etc, we just casual fans aswell ?

Dont think it was Behind the Goals it was more the fanboys on the COYB fb page apparently that started calling him "boss" and wanting Keane tickets

Everything is taken just so literally.

Obviously everyone has different work and social commitments. I can’t attend or watch on quite a few Tuesdays.but I certainly wouldn’t pack in my ST, especially after 50years of being a fan. That’s a major loss to the club and very worrying.

Anyway, my general point is that cutting off funding to the club, however much or little, is not the answer.
I know lots of former Falkirk people who live in Fife, Edinburgh and elsewhere and rarely make games but keep their ST’s going just out of loyalty to the club

Yes, the product these last few years has been crap but, as someone born and bred here I feel I just need to live in hope that the good times will return. I appreciate that view might be a little different for folks who have come to live here more recently.

We do ! its nothing.

Let the clubs value drop further then increase their stake holding at the bottom of the market.

But the share price isn't going to change much at the moment .  We're not a plc. The share price is 40p just now. Can't see it changing any time soon

When will the rigorous interview process for a new commercial manager start? Presume that will now take up all of their time.

There’s something seriously wrong with our club. Looking in to Gary Deans more. Been on Twitter since early 2015 and only seems to have tweeted about Falkirk 5/6 times before becoming chairman based on 3 things and that was for the Cup final in 2015, the playoff final the year later and Peter Houston winning manager of the year. Only Falkirk affiliated page he follows is the Back the Bairns page. How big a Falkirk fan is he? Not that it should matter entirely but he seems to make a big thing about that.

I thought he was good news at first but from all I’m hearing I’m convinced he’s no better than those before him and the same old boardroom culture remains.

Absolutely that culture remains. He was an appointment of Colin Liddell (in Scotland, that is pronounced the same way as the German supermarket chain Lidl).

That was his parting gift…..another puffed up self important accountant pretending to be a Falkirk fan despite never having set foot in TFS in its first 14 years of existence.

Dont mind anyone not being a fan. KK was an out and out Celtic fan doing a job of work. However, the minute someone fakes that he is a fan (in the real world, that’s known as lying), then from the get go, trust and honesty is in short supply.

Think I remember watching a video of the event at Behind the Goals as he was wheeled out. Could be wrong though.
