The Falkirk FC Thread

Actually, scrap this, it says on the SPFL website that if we're unable to field a team then we'll forfeit the match, though it's not specifically in the competition rules. https://spfl.co.uk/news/spfl-statement-46963

Could happen to any club and would like to think that FFC will offer any support they can to Kilmarnock FC regarding re arranging the fixture.

This won't be the first and won't be the last situation of this type.

Based on the rules it won’t be rearranged....nor should it....

At least we've got another week for the injured players to recover for the Scumfermline game. Could also get awarded the three points but I highly doubt that'll happen. We seem to be putting all our eggs in the Kingsley basket so hopefully that comes off. Any rumours on who the back up keeper is looking like being I'd imagine at this stage it'll be a loan.

I’d say it’s pretty clear cut....
“If a club is unable or unwilling to field a team in a Betfred Cup Round 1 group stage tie, or fails to provide sufficient negative test results, the club concerned will forfeit the match (on the basis of a 3-0 defeat).”

We should offer to help them then discover the rules don't permit it.

If you are awarded a "win" on Tuesday then enjoy it. Since Falkirk beat Kilmarnock in the 1957 Scottish Cup Final replay Killie have taken a terrible revenge on the Bairns, winning every game of any consequence - the 1997 Scottish Cup Final; the 2007 League Cup semi-final; the 2010 relegation "decider", the 2016 League Play-off.......
