Lower league clubs have been warned they risk disciplinary proceedings if they kick off the new season and fail to fulfil their fixtures. (Daily Mail)

Just read this on the BBC gossip for Scottish clubs. Hypothetical it could be 4 games against Partick to decide who is champions and who is in the playoffs.

It sounds like the Scottish Government are doing zero to support the clubs then ??

According to the report some clubs won’t see beyond 5 weeks.

Doesn’t look like the devolved parliament will be able to do anything as you say.

NS has already said if she had the financial backing/powers she would have taken stricter measures over the latest restrictions.

With the reported news, it’s looking bleaker by the day for many lower division clubs. I do recall Donkeycaster threatening clubs if any kicked off season and then couldn’t fulfill fixtures.

Looks like D day soon for many clubs. Really hoping that we’ve budgeted for the now scenario.

Really grim - many clubs won’t make it through this sadly.

Doesn't seem to have a problem pumping cash into failing shipyards and airports so  you'd think it's only right that they save jobs in lower league football teams too. That 500 to 1 mill they used to pay salmonds court costs could've been spent far better on keeping clubs afloat. Far too much cash getting pished down the drain on hospitals that either kill people or have never opened as well.  Means there's nowt in the pot when it's really needed unfortunately.

The problem you have with that is they seem to think throwing money at the problem will fix it when it isnt the answer better management of the resources but the trouble with NS is she doesnt want to be seen to be wrong the same as Boris so they would rather piss money up against the wall at fixing a problem in the hope that it works and therefore seen to be right despite the fact its over budget.

The arts will probably get cash before lower league football.

Probably right but still feel it's unfair. To allow cinemas to open but not lower league football grounds. Surely the risk is far higher in a cinema or pub than a football stadium.

I would have thought so you can meet people in open air providing social distancing rules are applied and can even meet up to 6 people outdoors so i dont see why they cant have reduced capacity at football ground , they could even keep the pie stall closed to avoid people in enclosed spaces (although you do have the toilet issue) but thats pretty much the same as any pub.  However you could have a traffic light system rigged to the doors for one in one out for the toilets with folk waiting at the bottom entrance or even stewards monitoring and giving the go ahead with one in, one out.

You are absolutely correct but, if I recall, you, and others pilloried me for bringing up POLITICS on a football forum.

You might also like to mention the £300mn black hole created by the SG, nothing to do with Westminster despite the SG levying higher taxes on the aspirational.
