If the groups I mentioned don’t feel safe, then they shouldn’t attend.

Its called ‘personal responsibility’.

Don't you have a personal responsibility not to infect people with a deadly virus?

Sorry, stupid question!

A six figure fee is significant for all Scottish clubs. You can claim your fans would raise that amount if you like, but you'll probably find your club fund raises anyway at some point, so you'll still be a six figure fee down.

It doesnt matter why the top flight clubs do it, at the end of the day its looking like they all be running at a loss to protect a TV deal that gives lower league teams six figure fees, while also allowing them to hibernate, and hibernation will be the best option for some.

Obviously a six figure sum isn’t significant to St Johnstone who in season 18/19 paid at least 15 players over £105,000. Madness for a club of their size. I know they have investments in property from when they have made profits in good seasons, which they were recently looking to sell some of to cover current losses. The St Johnstone’s St Mirren Kilmarnock should never be paying that level for players.

Freedom or servitude.

I know where I stand

Quite the Nelson Mandela. Except it's about opening the pubs versus staying home for a bit to save lives.

Ok ! lets go through your reply.

The people doing not getting the infection but dying are generally the same. Post pandemic enquiries will clarify the data.

Covid 19 is not like the flu ! The virus behaves in a different way. Different symptoms - Different side effects - Different long term health issues. That's not an opinion its a medical fact.

Freedom is deciding not to do something is just as valid as doing something. Beyond dispute.

Altering your behaviour to keep you and your family safe is not servitude. It is the opposite - free will.

So forcing people to do something that they fear will endanger them. Now that's what I call servitude !

Nobody is forcing anyone to do anything.

If you want to dodge about wearing a mask, stay indoors, not socialise, then yes, that is your right.

Thats up to you.

I only mix with people similarly minded so there is no problem.

We all know the score.

Freedom or servitude? Seriously, that’s the breadth of options? This really isn’t a binary issue though. Nor is it “like the flu”. It’s a SARS disease with no known vaccine.....that is not “like the flu”.

All three models pointed to much the same outcome.....half a million additional deaths if no action was taken. A “c’est la vie” attitude is so easy to adopt when you are pretty confident the disease isn’t going to get you, or if it does, it’ll be a wee cough for four or five days. Of course, if you pass it on to someone else who subsequently dies, then that’s worth no more than a shrug of the shoulders.

UK population - around 65m

Covid deaths 37000.

Deaths as percentage is around 0.05%.

In under 70’s it is around 0.005- minuscule.

Asian flu 68/69 - deaths 80000.

Uk population then much lower.

No lockdown, no putting people out of jobs, life carries on, NHS copes.

Look, I get fed up seeing people witter on here about how and when we are going to see any football, if at all, and how many teams will survive, blah blah when it is quite obvious that if we are EVER going to see it again with spectators, then you will need to get off your self righteous high horses and understand that it will never restart until we, as a people, are prepared to take risk.

The slight risk that we might catch a disease against the risk of giving up all the things that make life worth living.

Mrs DPB and me have made our choice and it’s time you lot did the same.

Jesus, m8, you really don’t get it.

The Asian Flu killed people, yep...COVID-19 would have killed many more without ventilators (including a couple around here) and/or ICU care. The advancements in respiratory support and medical treatments since ‘68 account for a huge decrease in deaths from this pandemic. The NHS was properly funded before the slashing and burning that occurred in the ‘70’s, and since.

You keep conflating statistics, you simply cannot use total population in conjunction with deaths from an event or item UNTIL the scenario is complete. A death rate is properly calculated by determining the population exposed to the event and the resulting deaths due to that event. The current calculated death rate is certainly high, probably by two to three times, due to untested people who have had the virus (reduces the death rate) and deaths related to the virus but uncounted because no test was done (increases the death rate).

As for your only involving like minded people, bullshit! Do you wait until Sainsbury’s or Tesco clears the store before you shop? Do the sanitize the store after you shop? Are you using a self-contained breathing apparatus? Do people with compromised immune systems wear a little sign that only you and your ilk can read? Or do “those types” of people have to forfeit all THEIR rights so you can proudly wander about, beating your chest about how this is all stupid?

Well have the balls to contact a Police Scotland to make them aware of your intentions so that they can then prevent you from infecting others. You might get a few fines, but I am sure your principles will deem it worthwhile.

Not going to football, a restaurant, or the cinema......”all the things that make life living”? Christ, that’s desperate.....and it’s only taken a couple of months to break you to the point of declaring your personal Braveheart moment. A man of action.

Fair enough - you’re happy to go on like this

As a matter of interest, at what point will you accept going back to real normal?

What level of infection/ deaths is an acceptable risk?

Asian flu comparison.....why? Wake up, this is SARS not flu. No lockdown, 500,000 dead, NHS collapse....that’s the comparison that matters. You continually try to make spurious comparisons to justify the unjustifiable. The 37,000 dead (which in reality, is very likely to be much higher) is because we eventually got round to a lockdown, not because “it’s just like the flu”.

Will your dad be watching Kilmarnock this year?

Not sure anyone will be watching anything this year to be honest the way we're going.😁
