The Falkirk FC Thread

Recommended Posts

The club are in the rare situation of having to sell themselves to potential managers.

For the for the time in following Falkirk since the 60's we have got a reputation as a hire and fire club. Prior to that FFC were respected for standing by their managers and buying into their vision. That attracted talent and when they moved onto bigger clubs we got compensated and goodwill from the ex manager and their new club.

We have to get that reputation back. That comes from trust and with the board we have that is in scarce supply

Ownership ? Funds ? Length of contract ? Amount of control ?  are all questions potential new managers are going to ask. The Board should to make a statement on Monday outlining what are  the answers. But somehow I doubt it.

As much as people on here are appalled at the usual names being banded about. Can anyone seriously see our board doing something left field and going for anyone different or even leaving it a few weeks to step back and assess the whole [email protected] mess that we are in.

If any on that list are appointed could the last one out TFS switch off the lights.  We seriously need new ownership if that’s the best we can attract.  I hope to f**k someone that wants to cut there teeth in management that’s had a bit of pedigree in there playing career puts his CV in.

Barry Robson?

Davie Weir?

If you listened to his walking down hope st interview, then you'd hear why he shouldn't be a No1 in a management team.

I'm astonished to see Coyle as a favourite for any job after his disaster at County. He was totally and utterly incompetent in his tactics, his training and his signings.

I loved the Blackburn fan comment regarding Coyles time, it was along the words of great manager if your players want to improve their pool, snooker and darts skills.

When we do appoint someone, I hope we go for a rolling contract for now, yes there is a danger of them leaving if successful but it's how I'd have it for the time being

Watching Falkirk's highlights theyre very one sided; it looks like Dumbarton didnt get out their own half for half an hour.

Very soft penalty too, the defender had the ball blasted against him -no attempt to handle the ball.

PS  And these old codgers commentating WTF...

I don’t like this current team, wanted to lose to get rid of McKinnon, and generally think handballs are given far too often and hate the new handball rule. And yet that is still one of the most blatant pens I’ve seen in the last 3 years

Yep, agree about the stupidity of the rule.

The defender had his back to the shot. I cant see why anyone would want to handle a shot there, and right in front of the ref.

He turns his back with his arms out to block the shot which is goal bound. Blatant pen.
