I hope it's a one year contract and obviously that he does a job 6 month

Nedelko
McKinnon also said he can play anywhere up top including out wide. 'Can' and 'will' are different things. No idea why people seem to think we'll be playing with 1 up top either btw, very clear from pre-season that we'll be playing with 2 strikers and 1 in behind for league games at the very least Longridge is a great signing, will be interesting to see if he's evidence of some of the Campbell money filtering through or if he's a replacement for Johnston

Longridge and McManus can easily play a bit wider but still get in the 6 yard box. It's not rocket science.

It's not rocket science. It’s not rocket science but it’s bizarre to play your best striker and most likely goal threat in a position which he has been previously unhappy with.I’m not opposed to him being up top on his own with the following midfield Longridge Tidser ConnollyGomis TelferEveryone goes on about Tidser in this number 10 role at Morton when McKinnon came in, would be tempted to try him there rather than his 2 in a diamond, but would swap him and Telfer. However as McKinnon has been playing two up front would expect Longridge Tidser Gomis TelferEither as that flat four from left to right or the diamond with Gomis at the base and Longridge at the tip.Regardless of the above, wouldn’t be playing McManus out wide.

Thought our team played better without him, reason he was in and out all the time. 3 goals and 5 assists 18 starts 11 subs app.
GMBairn
Longridge should be a good signing, we were crying out for width at the weekend and that's something he should be able to offer.

The DD is underway; I don't think we'll hear anything more until everything is complete. Once that happens I'm sure there will be press conferences, photocalls, statements of intent etc. Assuming all goes well of course. No idea of the likely timescale. I guess the two signings make it slightly less critical that the new owner gets the keys before the transfer window closes.
