Dunne is still with the club is he not?

I didn't think he was

He's not been mentioned anywhere, wasn't on the released list at the end of the season though. Neither was Joe Mckee.

So as things stand:

Goalkeepers:

Robbie Mutch - Contracted to 2021

Defenders:

Gregor Buchanan - Contracted to 2021

Paul Dixon - Contracted to 2021

Midfielders:

Ian Mcshane - Contracted to 2020

Morgaro Gomis - Contracted to 2020

Ross Maclean - Contracted to 2020

Michael Tidser - Contracted to 2021

Aiden Connolly - Contracted to 2021

Charlie Telfer - Contracted to 2021

Strikers:

Aidan Laverty - Contracted to 2020?

If correct, that list screams out that a keeper, three defensive players and three attacking players should be the priorities.

What makes you think that?

Falkirk are due a sell-on from the transfer fee, which unconfirmed reports state could rise to as high as £3.5 million after add-ons.

About to sign for Cardiff and the wonder that is Vaulks just keeps on giving.

Apart from those listed in the statement a few days after the season end, everyone was out of contract. That included McKee and the other players not mentioned such as both Mitchells, Dunne, Diakite, Jarvis (Jason), Langan, Reekie & Young.

I'm not sure of the reason for the omissions.

I am sure that as none have been announced as having signed up again, they are no longer Falkirk players.

We currently have nine players with more to be added when an agent picks up the phone and says "we accept". Whether any of our former reserve players have received offers and will rejoin remains to be seen.

Midfielders:
Ian Mcshane - Contracted to 2020
Morgaro Gomis - Contracted to 2020
Ross Maclean - Contracted to 2020
Michael Tidser - Contracted to 2021
Aiden Connolly - Contracted to 2021
Charlie Telfer - Contracted to 2021

I’d be very surprised is one of those players is signed for the bench in league 1. Could see McShane leaving.

We will just have to keep the ball in midfield and go for no score draws. No change there then

I reckon he might well try that very thing in the first couple of games,  but if he is still doing it three or four games into the season, then all the doubts about his management credentials will re-surface.....and deservedly so.

He's likely to play a 4-2-3-1 which would mean that he'd have to replace McShane if he left. From that list I would think McLean would be on the bench initially.

I'd imagine it'll be Maclean, Connolly and Telfer fighting it out for a starting spot. But still a lot of new faces to come in, could be that two of those three find themselves on the bench. I'd like to think we've asked Ross County about the availability of either DKD, Harry Paton or Daniel Armstrong as surely one of them will be available for next season even if it's just on loan. Michael Doyles names been banded about for the right back spot and obviously Durnan's heavily rumoured but surely we'll still need another 2/3 defenders in as cover at least. We'll most likely have at squad of around 22 so that means theres still another 6/7 permanent signings to come in with probably 4/5 loans. Needs to get his loans right this season no point bringing someone in to sit on the bench the full time ie Lavery and Jarvis to a lesser extent. Liking the look of a 4-2-3-1 but he'll need to bring in some pace to make that work.

Permanent signings are hopefully:

A goalie -Cammy Bells been mentioned

a right back -possibly Doyle

2 centre backs -Durnan and another

another ball winning midfielder -wouldn't be surprised if that turns out to be Grant Gillespie considering he left Raith to go back to full time football

2 strikers

Loans are hopefully:

a full back that can play left or right back just like tumilty when he came in

a winger

a number 10- DKD would be the dream

a striker

I think McShane renegotiated his contract to stay longer.  Lesser wages, extra year etc

So, maybe not a big thing but do we have a problem looking in our own back yard for talent?

Hamilton Academical are to give Camelon striker Kieran Anderson a chance to impress in pre-season training after the 24-year-old scored 47 goals for the East of Scotland League club last season.

According to The Sun though

He's murder. Shite attitude and only scores against the crap sides. Standard in that league last season was utterly dreadful too.

I see the marketing slogan has changed or is this a subliminal message from the MSG

Telfer should be a good signing.

Are there any current Morton or former United players free agents that we should be considering snuffling up next?

Lee Kilday and Rory McKeown. HTH.

Oh and Denny Johnstone but he doesn't have knees.

RED SOCKS!!!

I never remember us ever having red socks back in the day. All the strips I had as a boy in the 70s had blue or white socks I'm sure.

According to this from 1977 to 1994 all our strips were red socks:
