The board  repeatedly acknowledged the work and assistance publicly re Alex Smith for years, so I'm guessing you have facts they didn't then ?

Boards generally have business minded people running the finance with hope they appoint the right man for the football side, let's not forget  how Man Utd appointed David Moyes on the recommendation of Sir Alex.

I'm not sticking up for our board here, they have been a bunch of clueless coonts and will take us down this season

Equally, it’s worth remembering Moyes had 10 months there, and lost 15 of the 51 games he managed. He was subsequently portrayed as a disaster which actually wasn’t the case. His record actually stands up to most of those who followed him.

The only guys we have had with that kind of love have been Crunchie, Stainrod and  Latapy.

Anyway, we have an entire league wishing us gone, and since matters are no longer in our control, I expect zero favours going our way. Even the equally awful QotS have our abysmal goal difference as an additional buffer even if the miracle happens today.

It was Alex Smith that recommended Hartley for the job and that came from Smith himself.

Probably wouldn't admit it now right enough

Well that’s a definite contradiction right there. I had taken an elderly neighbour to his Probus Club meeting, and Alex was the speaker that day. Something very different came from Alex that day and he said that due to his imminent departure, he felt it inappropriate to have any input into the appointment of the next Falkirk manager. He said a new chapter of his life was about to begin, and he wouldn’t be here to offer any advice or input and so chose to play no part in the managerial appointment. That was very much from the man himself too.

Yep, the 7yr contract, silverware aplenty made Moyes the success he was at Man U.....

Well done Fergie

How many of Ray, & his signings, are here for next season, or longer? Looks like the cheque book will be needed to pay them off too!
Cash burn has been/is incredible, surely administration beckons?

The club statement is going to be a gem. There will be no apology of course, but the spin they put on it is going to be spectacular.

Might get my better half to capture it in needlepoint.

Ok, for administration, you need a significant debtor to start the process. If we are (as seems to be the case) up to speed with HMRC, then that’s the main admin baddie out of the way. Perhaps we own Falkirk Council rent? Dont think so though. SSEB? Nope. Players unpaid? Don’t think so. How about directors soft loans? Could be. So what’s the best way for them never to see a penny of their money? That’s right, call in an insolvency practitioner. So what’s an insolvency practitioner’s first duty? Look after the interests of creditors? Nope. It’s to keep the business afloat by dumping all debt if possible. So, if we have debt, and it’s in the form of soft loans, then they are the very last people to want insolvency practitioners anywhere near the building as their shares and their loans instantly become worth nowt.
