Come on to f**k. You’re really expecting a chairman (any chairman) to come out and say that x amount of our current players are shite and not good enough? Honestly what good would that do?

She can't say "the seasons fucked.. we're trying to hang with Alloa and hope to scrape 9th" either. Though in reality we all know that's the situation.

I don't blame her for the "90 pts still to play for.. playoffs still the target" spiel.

There are no development teams. There is no development league.
Binning that acadmemy was 100% correct decision the minute we we were told we were not in the elite.

So why have 20 odd other clubs not done the same as us if it was 100% correct?

The relegation playoff is the target. 45 minutes at Ayr prove nothing IMO. Improvement can only be judged over a sustained period.

Commonly known as the "Brentford Model".

It's a dangerous game to think you can replicate that at this level. They spend millions on data analysts and scouts solely focused on finding cast offs, and have developed a relationship with clubs around London who are aware Brentford will take and develop young players, and are willing to put huge sell on clauses in purely to get them. They also sign from lower down their pyramid and from abroad.

Theres a difference between what they do and this idea of just signing any young player released by the Old Firm.

The likes of st mirren have a fantastic academy even though they missed out on elite status. Somehow they even managed to keep their academy and get promoted. Must be some sort of miracle.

We missed out on "elite" status too, but made the "progressive" category. Funding from the SFA was increased from before Project Brave.

We've had to invest heavily in hiring more full time youth staff and upgrading facilities though.

I think Falkirk have made a mistake dumping the system, despite my hatred for Project Brave, you weren't forced to go for the "elite" status and the "Progressive" would probably have only required a few full time coaches on top of what you had, as your youth set up was better than ours. Long term you need to be developing your own players.

I think it was a brave move to release such a detailed statement. They could have said nothing. They could have put out a one paragraph collection of platitudes saying nothing. Instead they've given a long and detailed statement answering many of the whinges raised on here over the last few weeks. If they'd said nothing, people on here would bitch and whine. If they'd said simply "we're doing our best, going again, supporting the manager blah blah blah", people on here would bitch and whine. They've released a detailed statement and guess what, people on here bitch and whine.

The Academy was fucked the minute Project Brave started. The bigot sisters and their support acts saw the success ourselves, Hamilton and Livi had and devised a plan to screw us and every other diddy club over. They want it all, they want every kid who can kick a ball without falling over on the off-chance they might make 50p profit. They don't give a shite about Scottish football, the majority of clubs or the well-being of young players - they see fucking money because that's all this business is to them. Screw the fans, screw the diddy clubs, screw their own employees so long as the money makes it's way to the shareholders. That's why we have no Academy, point the finger of blame where it belongs.

Hamilton are an elite academy club

It was the progressive we were in. Its our ceo and chairman that are using elite costs to cover their own arses.

'Playoffs are still our aspiration'. Funny I thought winning the league and getting promoted was our one and only aspiration. Selling season tickets on an all out for promotion sales front when really it would seem it was the top 4 strategy which we had before binning our academy which was still in play. More pish from lang and craig.

So you already had everything set for "Progressive"? If so, seems bizarre to dump it weeks before you start getting increased funding from the SFA.

Actually, she knows Zero about football if she thinks we're capable of making the play offs at the moment.

Better just to say OK we've screwed up big time and hopefully we can get out of this mess, let's see what we're looking at come January, in the meantime hopefully the support will still back the team. Just speak the truth instead of laying the blame on everyone else.

Not sure what you are expecting to hear. First there will be contact between the parties, then negotiation and if that fails legal proceedings. It’s only in the latter event this will get in the public domain. I would imagine that initially Morton’s approach will be multi pronged focusing on manager and club with the threat of a complaint to the SFA which might include a bit about a signing of yours. It will be up to you lot to buy us off to stop litigation.

Another narcissistical comment from this non proud Scot, who selects to support a team who gambled on getting beaten and had Derek Lyle peddling drugs at the time he played with them.

Clearly blinkered that money is the be all and end all, and like the team he selects to support believes in obtaining as much money, by whichever means available!

You belong to Greenock!

What, so it doesn't "make sense" to trust a qualified, successful lawyer with decades of experience in legal matters unless she had "clandestine contact" about something as basic as the termination clause in a contract of employment?

I'm afraid we'll have to agree to disagree on that one.

Never mind. As I said to you a few weeks back and reiterated yesterday, time will tell who's in the right. If it proves to be you, feel free to post again afterwards and milk your victory.

If not, you might just end up looking a bit silly.

Maybe. However a Chairman’s statement which says we “followed procedures” but doesn’t explain the basis on which she rebutted the Morton chairman’s oral  claim for £100k compensation, as mentioned in his own statement, suggests the matter has not been settled.

Clearly this Q&A is nothing but  a PR release to keep the fans quiet. You know you are in for a mind numbing future when words like sustainability, procedures and spreadsheets are trotted and sod all about football.

Bit naive though to admit openly you had to pay £ 60k to remove the  previous incumbents. The standard severance clause is usually three months salary.

Know what guys, keep your compensation. You clearly need the money more than we do. Have a packet of strawberry millions as well on us.

No thanks, fucking awful sweets.

She doesn't even need to mention the players.

How does she say the season is fucked without implicating the players and the new management team?

Maybe she didn't mention the oral claim, because, as a lawyer, she knows it's a baseless claim that the sweetieman pulled out his arse in a pique of huffery?

Sigh. This is why most clubs keep their mouths shut, because there are so many thick c***s on internet football forums determined to show everyone they're thick c***s.

I think most clubs keep their mouths shut because they treat their fans with even more contempt than ours does.

Then you've got the clubs that have fans so thick they think they are going to get mythical levels of money for something that didn't happen.

In terms of credibility, ML is very much in the last chance saloon. CC’s credibility is now beyond recovery.

Top 4 is now the aspiration. It isn’t going to be too long before that is recalibrated to “avoid 9th” and then “avoid 10th”.

Rallying calls from our BoD are ten a penny, but actually admitting to getting things woefully wrong is as rare as hen’s teeth.
