Sorry, this idea that you can’t criticise a signing because we “can’t attract better options” is ludicrous.

Maciver is 24 and has been full time at 3 clubs, so there is a record there to look at. He is not a player fresh from academy football or getting a first opportunity to go full time.

I can see nothing in his record at Alloa or previous clubs to suggest he has the ability to be part of a title winning side. Further signings will need to add real quality to the starting 11 in my view or it will be playoffs at best.

So youll just never be happy with a signing at this level if you're expecting more

Agree on Nisbet, he had a very decent season overall. Finished the season with the highest number of assists in the league and was selected by his fellow peers to be in the team of the year. His form did drop of toward the end of the season as was the same for a number of our players but during that mid season spell he was arguably our best player and it was at that point he was offered the new deal, probably in part due to other clubs sniffing around I’d guess.

Don’t think so. That was another honour picked up by a Dunfermline player, Chalmers.

Others saying he's the last striker they'd let leave, its opinions

That’s it. It opinions as you say. Especially as we haven’t seen the boy in a Falkirk shirt yet. I genuinely hope he does well.

The 2 year deal and the timing of it were both strange. I don't imagine any clubs were challenging for his signature and given his time at us it's unlikely to be the case another year down the line. 1 year deal as a squad player or let him walk imo.

Does anyone else think the legends graphics in the north stand will get defaced when/if the first big away support turns up?

Always thought stainrod would look great with a big Mexican moustache

I thought that at the Airdrie game. Don’t think it will happen next season due to the size of away crowds but going forward it could once we get to a league where bigger crowds are coming.

Was my thought too.

Another couple of points. 1. I’m surprised that they decided to stick up Super Sam without a sponsor. 2. They could have done it for the start of next season and invited the actual players along for a pitch side walk about. Don’t think Stainrod or Latapy would turn up, but you never know. 3. I’d rather have had John Markie than Yogi, but that’s just my age talking.

The top two(?) rows in the stand were taped off for our play-off visit so that maybe is something the club has thought about.

As much as I have doubts over mcglynn at least his first two signings are big & hopefully physical..we are all sick to death of pass pass go nowhere...a powerful central mid that can win the ball & a dominant CH would be nice...oh aye & someone who's played right back before although yeats might be the answer there

Agreed. Fullback is now a very specialised position and I’d rather see us sign on of those.

Looking forward to see Yeats continue to develop though. Kids got bundles of energy and enthusiasm.

Yep, no player in our squad matched his work rate and determination, just needs a little work technically and get physically stronger and he’ll be a right good little player.

Aye but only two rows means they were using John McGlynn as an arm model when the safety plan was being drawn up. Us knuckle dragging diamonds have big long chimp arms 😂

😐

I’ve just worded that wrong, he had OUR most assists. Apologises but I thought the point I was making was clear enough.  (Incidentally having just checked he was 2nd in the assist table behind Chalmers with only a single assist less but has scored 3 more goals than Chalmers if we are being pedantic)

was literally minutes after maciver signed and he was getting slated 😂 No doubt he'll score in a friendly and he'll be touted as a world beater. We're a fickle bunch

Some are fickle, some are realistic, some are positive. Some appear to be as thick as shit!

One thing I've learned is not to bother about a previous players record or what his previous fans say when we sign a new player. We've had boys that have been praised to the hilt by their last club who turn out awful and players with dreadful records that have turned out decent.  From now on I wait to see what they are like in the navy blue as that is all that really matters at the end of the day. If he turns out shit I'll slate him if he turns out great i'll laud him but till then it's a clean slate.

Do you support the creation of a Conference League?

Member clubs of the SFA will soon be asked to vote on a proposal to create a “Conference League” below SPFL League 2, which would include up to 4 Premiership B teams, and the remaining clubs invited from the Highland and Lowland Leagues. Under the proposals, the B teams would not be promoted or relegated and a process of promotion and relegation for the other clubs would take place each season.

Our club will have a chance to vote on these changes at the SFA AGM on June 6th. We have been asked by the Falkirk Board of Directors to hear your views on this issue to help them decide how to vote.

Please let us know below if you support or oppose a new Conference League at a new Tier 5 and give any further comments by following the link below. We will provide the results and a summary of views to our fans' directors. The consultation will remain open until Sunday 28th May at 1500.
