Rennie has had 2 main objectives left this season.

1. Reach the playoffs

2. Win the playoffs

I believe he has done enough to set us on course for the first of these. If we were to continue beating the teams under us, hold QP, and lose to the top 3 we would make 4th.

The issue I have though is there is nothing here to show we can win a playoff if we continually lose to the other teams occupying the positions. There's a week or so left to get loan players in, it would be some terrible management not to pull something off.

Imo we have no chance of making it up through the playoffs, even if we do miraculously finish 4th. We're such a poorly coached side compared to the top 3  that we'll just get rolled over.  Theres still that bit hope that we'll magically turn into this well oiled outfit, but the weeks just keeping passing by and it's the same old tripe with no real progress.

and in L1, we have failed to win back to back games at any point in the season……an utter joke of a statistic for a full time club. Simply horrendous.

We won three consecutive League One games - Peterhead, Airdrie, Clyde - under Sheerin in August.

There are, unfortunately, any number of alternative, and equally horrendous statistics to support the joke of a full-time club theory. Four home wins out of twelve - all, surprise surprise, against bottom half teams, the negative goal difference, the 6 points from an available 36 against the top four.  Take your pick really. There is no progress whatsoever.

It’s the plain fact Rennie doesn’t even change formation when it’s obvious to even Stevie Wonder that it wasn’t working.
I left early and I don’t normally do that, but to travel for 2 and a bit hours each way to be served that guff yet again it’s now beyond a joke. I have know idea why ATS continues to start ahead of Dixon at the left side of the three. He was a goal waiting to happen at Alloa and today he got the first part of Cove opener wrong by continually letting Fyfie run free. He’s murder. We need to ditch this playing out from the back and as negative as it may be, we need to just bypass the midfield. It’s utterly hopeless that we just continue to try and play through these jokers of footballers.

You’re right. It seems so long ago. I was actually remembering the Airdrie game as a loss. God knows why I would think we’d get beat by Airdrie in L1.

I think the thing for me is that MR can improve things by changing players, but I think the jury is out on whether he is able to bring about improvement by coaching existing players. I have not seen any evidence that says he can.

Its the same thing with wanting a stable starting eleven, yet he hasn’t really tried to do that very thing. For me today, finding a starting spot for Hetherington but not Kabia……arguably the most exciting (and effective) player we have seen in a long time was MR having a serious bout of overthinking things.

His pre and post match interviews are now becoming very monotone. We all know about training well, and the players gelling, and there’s a great spirit in the dressing room, and we are all enjoying what we do, then we get beat half of the time.

I am not seeing the spark. He may well prove to be the right guy to restructure the playing side of things for next season, but coming in as a rescue specialist half way through a season……I really doubt if that’s one of his core skills.

It is really all about points on the board, and while he is ahead of Sheerin, its not by very much, and nor is it a case of the 10 points he has acquired from his 8 games are a sign of recent improvement……LWLWLDWL…..that’s a trend of nothing meaningful getting any better.

If we lose our next to games then Rennie may achieve the 1st objective you have set him.

Just back and unfortunately another inept and woeful showing, for me R&M got it wrong with the continued and brutal playing out from the back (and wrong line up)

There’s not one player(maybe Dixon) that I would be confident playing out with, the rest are not comfortable or not competent to play this tactic.

We were outmuscled and in the end a very comfortable victory for the gypsy, with a midfield and a strength all over that was miles ahead of us.

ATS - if he’s better than Dixon, sorry R&M don’t get or buy it. McKay showed his true form an absolutely a shite player stealing a wage. Bizarre we dropped our best in form player for Griffiths, and why guys like Heatherington and Nesbit get game time is utterly baffling.

Easy to have a go at the management but thought they got it crucially wrong today. Games running out and another “false dawn”

It’s hard to imagine the 9th place Championship doing anything other than battering us.  We most certainly are not “on the up”, and in L1, we have failed to win back to back games at any point in the season……an utter joke of a statistic for a full time club. Simply horrendous.

Agreed 100%

We were told by others that ATS was a shite centrehalf but could do a job at wingback so we sign him and play him at centrehalf. No idea why the young centrehalf was signed. If he can't get a game before Mackay then he's another wasted loan deal to go with the myriad of others we have had over the past few years.  The one thing we needed in January was a real leader on the park and yet again we seemed to have completely missed the boat on that one.

It makes no sense for either party to have him here if he isn’t an improvement on Brad McKay (which wouldn’t be difficult).

ATS doesn’t look good enough and Watson hasn’t really improved the organisation of the defence either.

I kind of agree, but Watson hasn’t played in a long time, but maybe the case he’s looking at what’s he’s playing with. As said don’t think we’ve got anyone that can competently play out from the GK.

He never was going to be with the shambles left behind by the previous regime.

He's been given budget to sign half a team, including a guy who was playing for Scotland 18 months ago.

I'm not expecting to win the league but I don't want to read any bollocks about how we need to cross our fingers about Aberdeen poaching him or us being some sort of unstoppable juggernaut that will pass Queens Park by default.

I don't fully know how I feel about Rennie yet, but that today was brutal and the period where he 'can't be fully judged' is over, if it wasn't already. I know he has his hands tied to a certain extent by the shite that was signed by the previous regime, but he has signed half a team worth of players. He also doesn't help himself persisting with 5 at the back with the tippy-tappy pish, even at 2-0 down when it clearly isn't working - especially with folk like McKay and ATS, who aren't cut out for that at all. Bringing Hetherington back in was fucking criminal and dropping Kabia was also highly questionable.

Our season will end by either petering out to finish 5-6th or stumbling into 4th, only to get completely ridden by whoever finishes 9th in the Championship over two legs. Depressing times.

If Falkirk get 13 - 16 points between now and the end of the season they will have done well. Hard to accept but if the club is to dig itself out of its own hole that harsh reality has to be faced.

Our problem is that nobody of the required quality will look at us due to the player and manager turnover as we ain't seen as a reliable employer.

With the exception of 4 - 5 players the rest have to go at the end of the season.

The focus has to be how does the club persuade the right quality of player to sign for us. If we can't then the mistakes of the last 4 seasons will be repeated.

The only way I can see it done is with a high profile manager. Because with that the players required will sign because of the individuals standing in the game buying into the regeneration of the club and their vision.

Will be a hard sell but this is the only way to go.

Exactly, I’m sick of reading the crap about how we’ll get 4th and with the right results even push Airdrie and Montrose for 3rd or even 2nd.
