Telfer off was a puzzling one, he was running the show, I almost feel taking Telfer off is what left the strikers isolated upfront and led to the bringing Ompreon on to try lump the ball over the top for him.  Poor subs and lack of making any changes in the first half in tactics really cost us.

Poor first twenty minutes, average next twenty five, good 15 minutes, average 30 minutes.
Ain’t going anywhere unless we can put QP to bed.
Disappointing again.
Watson, Telfer and Dowds decent. The rest meh.

I felt that was a much better second half but that wouldn’t have been too difficult. Kabia and Dowds caused their back line all sorts of bother second half and we eventually seen the real Robson and Doyle for what they are. I don’t understand why it took us 45 minutes to press them as high as we eventually did. I felt we probably edged second half as apart from that great save Mutch made we weren’t really troubled. What is up with these referee’s ? A blatant handball in the box and just poor decision after poor decision.  It’s the same every single week. I feel we badly need another striker as if Kabia or Dowds gets injured we’re very light.

See if we’re needing a goal late on what the f**k are we supposed to do with attacking options of ‘Jaime’ Wilson and Sammy Ompreon?

Totally agree. Not for a second am I suggesting he’s the solution to all our problems, but it’s fucking nonsense that Rennie doesn’t register Kenny Miller as a player given our lack of options. Costs us nothing and you’d get 25/30mins out of him no bother. Tells you everything about our (lack of) transfer dealings that I’m even suggesting this. Pish poor.

Ryan Williamson ran himself into the ground today. His best performance for us so far. Telfer was great but having him and McGuffie there just dosent work. Usual weekly defensive shambles for the QP goal and looked shaky a few times 2nd half. Definite improvement all over the park though and Mutch confirmed he should be #1

That’s as good a performance as you’re likely to see from a midfielder in this division from Telfer today btw. Absolutely madness to take him off. He was absolutely running the game at the point he was taken off he was triggering the press and even though it was only him and the 2 strikers that were going, the rest of the team way too deep, it was still putting them under pressure. The goal came from him battling in midfield to win the ball back and putting a good cross in to Dixon who somehow fucked it but luckily fell to Dowds. Taking him off was absolutely baffling and really killed our momentum and from then the only chance we had of scoring was from set pieces. Hetherington came on and whilst he wasn’t exactly the sitting midfielder his complete lack of any pace whatsoever meant he just wasn’t able to do anything of what Telfer was doing and he just kind of disappeared from the game.

Spot on - unless we find out Telfer took a knock it was an absolutely crackers substitution from Rennie.

Doesn’t excuse how shite we were today and the abject tactics on display!

we got hammered 6-0 by this mob not long ago so people who are saying there is NO improvement need a closer look. We are not a team of world beaters but at least the defence are starting to defend better and the attack are getting goals. Its the middle where we lack. We have invested too much on skillful lightweights and not enough on strength. The teams who are beating us have a couple of no nonsense midfielders who sadly just elbow us out easily

2nd half was a bit better but there were more questions than answers for me today…

How is McGuffie anywhere near the team?
Dixon at wingback?
Why was Mills thrown in last week after being at the club for about 10mins then left out today in favour of McKay?
Why was Telfer taken off?

Credit where it’s due for at least showing a bit of fight in the 2nd half but everything about today was very meh.

Yep the substitutions were baffling. We’re playing ok on with a chance of getting a second goal so let’s take off our main creative outlet and put on 3 jobbers.

Telfer showed his quality again today- he’ll be in the championship at least next season Imo. And to think some fans were wanting him punted last week 😂

Well aye..... But all anyone ever complains about re Telfer is his wild inconsistency. No one ever says hes not capable of a game like that
