The answer is quite simple………..it depends. Teddy Sheringham was playing for West Ham at 40, Spurs when he was 37, Man U at 35. Our very own Kenny Miller was at Rangers until he was 38.

It all depends on the individual, as plenty of players are done at 30.

There was the same expectation from Blair Alston when we signed him.

So if we sign Liam Craig lets give the guy a chance but keep out expectations to a realistic level.

See him as player between the 18yd and halfway line if he is going to play for 90 minutes.

Blair was 28 and personally I didn't go overboard with the signing, its always a coup to get a player to drop two divisions whilst they are under 30 but Alston had plenty injuries pre his return. 

I don't think you can stipulate an area of where he will play, when played for St Johnstone in the top league, he hasn't been that restricted

Whilst he hasn’t been our best player this season the one thing I WOULDN’T say about Alston is that his legs have gone. He gets around the park pretty well.
