I think we would struggle to get work permits in league one for Asian and American nationals.

David Weatherston is currently in Norway and doing a fair bit of analysis on the players there and across Scandinavia. He had identified the young guy Hibs have just signed, I would hope somebody could get in touch with him as one of ex players for some insight.

I realise that Norway isn’t in the EU but is your statement suggestive that no foreign nationals at all could qualify for a work permit in an independent UK earning a few grand a month? I’d have thought there was more chance of American and Asian professionals getting work permits now than at any stage of being in the EU. All be it a different level but Celtic clearly not struggling to get Japanese players permits.

Yeh but what specifically does he do within those e.g. Falkirk tv or concerts ?
What impact does his involvement with these have on the club or running of the club?
Is he paid employee or volunteer ?

If he isn’t involved in the concerts or  “hanging about”  who will be in/ or hang about in his  place?

need facts not just rumours

So many sweeping statements made about people whether that be about people who post on here, to people at the club , hangers on without anyone willing to actually talk facts and give clear information so the honest not ITK fans like myself can make our minds up for ourselves and put pressure on the right folks to change it

I may be in the minority but I like the Falkirk Stadium. It has its cons but I’m always impressed by the grandeur of the Main stand anytime I’m driving by or walking to the ground pre-match.

I understand the arguments for something smaller but I’ve worked at St.Mirrens stadium several times and it’s not for me. The atmosphere is just as poor and there is no good vantage point for the match.

We’ll forever get slagged for having 3 stands but we’re not the only club to have that and some of those that slag us have an empty stand most weeks. Would be great to have something there in the future but as mentioned there isn’t really the requirement for extra seats.

I'd like to see the stadium finished but there's definitely no need for further seats. That being the case it would have to be a separate building with perhaps a small area for safe standing running along the base. A training facility for Ineos (I think) was spoken about at one point but perhaps offices or a hotel or whatever could be considered?

The easy bit of course would be raising the cash to fund it!

Some form of safe standing on the open side, corporate boxes pitch side or build permanent facilities for the communal pitches that were recently built - or combination of that.

More office space is now unnecessary in this day-and-age or what about enhanced refreshment facilities. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but both the South stand and main stand seem under utilised so building anything would seem like folly.

Our former LB Tony Gallacher has just joined St Johnstone on a permanent deal from Liverpool.

Will be interesting to see how he's developed over the years.

I would suggest not very much if he's having to join st Johnstone permanently.

The guy threatened to assault a fellow board member FFS. He shouldn't be anywhere near the bloody club. If you're happy with people like that being in and around our club then that's your prerogative but that certainly ain't my view.

I couldn’t say I’ve got a great knowledge of the current guidelines for visa/work permits but historically the Old Firm have got permits for anyone they want while everyone else has struggled. Arguing that someone signing for a League 1 club would deserve a work permit seems like it would be more difficult based on their specialisms and skills.

I suppose it’s all hypothetical until someone decides to test it

Aye, A big building along the length of the pitch for use in whatever generates the most income, with the pitch facing side having a 8-10 row deep covered terrace. Doesnt look fucking stupid if empty, but id be in there rather than the SS if it was standing. Could even have a bar and knock out more casual, juniors style hospitality packages.

I'm sure I read an article or listened to a podcast last year regarding Motherwell and how they are looking at different markets for players, in-part, because of Brexit and cost.

I've tried to search for it but came up short.

Long term I think something like this would be ideal, we don’t need the extra capacity but something moderate with a standing terrace the fans would enjoy and facilities inside to generate income would be a nice long term objective which would benefit the club, the fans and the foundation. The foundation had looked at government funding for plans to build a small double sided stand with seats looking out on to the new 4G pitch as well, apart from all that something on that side would also improve the look and atmosphere of the place! All this is of course way down on the priority list at the moment however.

Isn’t there a story of how Jardel nearly signed for Rangers but someone like Peterhead got the last work permit available?

Different times, obviously.

It was Killie who got the last work permit available. Jardel was paraded on the pitch against us just a few days before. Apparently he used to take a load of cocaine at Porto I full knowledge of both the club doctor and physio. Sounds like he'd have been a great fit for Scottish football.

It’s covered in the two articles I’ve linked below, it doesn’t look like it’s very clear what qualifies for the exemption, it would have to be argued that the player was of significant quality
