An issue we have as a club is keeping people in a role simply because they’ve found a niche with which they can claim to know things others can’t learn or no other person can achieve. It’s rarely the case. 

There’s a few that have kept managing to keep their claws attached to the club in some capacity, who really shouldn’t be allowed back. That’s something that has to change.

The new bodies literally are not in the building yet. Holt, like it or not, probably does a lot of work with the current youth set up. The nature of his job means it’s a far more difficult firing/redundancy/gardening leave situation r.e contract than it is Sheerin. I have made clear however that he does need to go. 

Our squad is average to pish. Not going to change overnight. Give the new guys time FFS

I have a real feeling that we will see much more effort from the team against Cove. The players obviously did not like/could not play the system Sheerin was trying. Most of the team have a decent prior track record so I think Saturday was a Statement ( not a question)

I get your point, I think one thing we don’t have on our side however is time. We’ve got to get the right and we’ve got to get it right almost immediately.

The NB was 11 people. 7 have joined the Patrons Group. That group was formed by Kenny Jamieson. None of us who were involved in the NB area any more than investors. One of the NB was elected along with Kenny - Keith Gourlay. 
Gordon joining the Patron Group has nothing to do with anyone on the NB. Personally I don’t really have an issue as he has stepped away from the Board. You are of course entitled to your opinion.

Holt has been with the club for less that two years so assuming normal employment contract they can get rid of him without a reason.

Just catching up. Glad Sheerin is gone. No big daft celebration type patter though, Sheerin has done nothing to deserve that, just relief at those in charge finally doing what was needed. Any actual happiness at a binning will be reserved for sneering Gary Holt. 

Sheerin can hopefully just move on from this and get back in at a level of coaching more suited to his skills which seems to be at the youth levels.

Well said. The patrons in my mind come from the failed fan ownership formed by Kenny Jamieson and ? David White. Wish that had been successful. We also had over a thousand FSS subscribers if I remember correctly. Now is the time for people to put their money where their keyboard is.
We are always saying we are a potential big club with a large dormant fan base so now is the time to show we mean business. Sacking Holt could unleash this.
I think this season is lost sadly but we together have the power to change things. Socialist to the last!

The MAIN reason I want him to go is that any experienced manager that we want to bring on board will not want to work under someone else who makes all the key signing decisions.
If we want anyone decent the role needs to be made redundant or reduced to an ‘Academy only’ role immediately.
If the new guys can’t see that then I think it’s reasonable to be concerned.
At the same time, we know nothing of the new guys plans yet so let’s see…..

Yes asking for action but not slamming folk for not sacking folk when they haven't even got in the door yet.  Its going to take time to sort this mess out . It isn't going to happen overnight. Let's give the new guys time to get in , take stock and them make the necessary decisions. 

I’m sure we will give them the usual 20 mins.
However, Shadwell now telling folk to give new guys around the club a chance just doesn’t sit right with me….[emoji16]

I might be reading between the lines here on the club statement but, would it not suggest there is more to come out of this i.e. Holt being shown the door.  As thinking back to m and m departure Holt took the reigns  for a bit (didnt do f**k all right enough but he took them for a bit)

Part of the reason that we can't play it out is because we don't have a decent defensive midfielder to play it to if Telfer is further forward. In this system '"the pivot" is now a very important role, needs to be very mobile, hard tackling/robust, quick thinking and have an array of passing. Fast becoming one of the most valuable types of players (Declan Rice, Kalvin Philips) and as rare as hens teeth in League One.

The CBs also need to be comfortable on the ball under pressure and at least one has to be press resistant to break the lines and carry the ball forward at times. Also a non existent beast at out level. 

The system of play copied by Sheerin is widely used at the top of the game but totally unworkable & unfeasible in the 3rd tier of Scottish football due to a lack of anything like the right level of player available. He was deluded to think it would work and our BOD were completely naïve to believe in it too and therefore appoint him.

They know Holt is toxic so they've avoided any inference he'll be taking team affairs - I doubt he'd want to to be honest.

I also doubt the view he was meddling in Sheerins selections.

Direct questions should have been asked re the nepotism charge as the subsequent 1st team fall-out with Mutch left him in an awkward position.  It does look terrible that his son is now our backup whichever way you cut it.

Ultimately his input and Sheerins resulted in a pretty poor squad being assembled. Recruitment is the key piece to all of this and on that he - along with any managers input - has failed and he needs to go.

Guided them safely to 5th place. Never thought he could top blowing a 3 goal lead, in a semi-final, with his first ever team talk; but there you go.
