Guest Caractacus Potts
Signed up to Graeme Spiers patreon to listen to Paul Sheerin’s interview. Mentioned the term ‘sleeping giant’ once more. Rawlins will be happy at that. Also admits to not getting the ICT job. Said he applied for a couple of jobs with obvious links to teams he used to play for. ICT are one so would the others be Ayr and Alloa!? Talked about the SD role and says it is working well(unlikely to say otherwise). Happened to state that McInnes done all of that himself at Aberdeen so is it not ridiculous that we see the need to spend another £50k in League One to do duties Sheerin could do himself? Said they have Y scout. I guess that will be the new software Phil listed. What an innovation. Says he signed Seb Ross too which we knew already. Sounds quite set in his ways about sticking to how he wants us to play so can’t see him changing that. Not too much else of interest though.
Guest
Noticed on the EF thread that there’s chat about them getting Dowds on loan in January(?). Given that he has played for us and Arbroath, even if it were agreed by us and Arbroath, could he play for a third team in one season? Apparently, it was possible last season, but this season? Anyone know for sure?
Bigbrbairn
Anything other than Keena and Ross together up front will be the end of Sheerin. It was only when we used this tactic that our chances turned to goals. SURELY!

Stirling fan in peace. Is Liam Corr still at the club? One of my Falkirk supporting mates said he'd be on £25k plus and worked closely with Holt and management last season in scouting opposition teams and players.
ebobsboy
I think the end is nigh for him regardless of who he plays now. He looks totally out his depth. He will buy himself some time by beating East Fife but that interview post match on Saturday was absolutely cringe worthy. He's not up to the job full stop.

He got mentioned in the interview with Sheerin saying Holt and Corr do the main recruitment and had recruited players before his arrival. Think the Rawlins are trying to set us up as a Premiership team. The money we’re spending off the pitch is incredulous. Corr did work in our retail department and help with some analysis but says on LinkedIn that he’s 1st team analyst and scout so presume he doesn’t do that anymore as we employed a full time retail manager as well. Just trying to work what we’re spending off the park- Corr £25k Holt £50k Fergus £30k? Retail Manager £25k? CEO £40k? Commercial Manager £30k? Corr used to work with Active Schools on a £31k wage (I work in a similar field). If Holt and Corr are on £80k between them, I find that ludicrous for a league 1 club. Sheerin needs to improve but he also needs help from those above. Your previous managers mentioned both of them quite frequently when they were being interviewed.

Forgot about the head of scouting that was mentioned in Rawlins list too! Obviously some of these positions are required to run the club but certainly not all of them are. It is totally ridiculous for the position we are in. One of our board actually came out with the mantra that if we act like a League One club we’ll remain a League One club. So instead of investing more in the first team we are spending rakes on infrastructure and vanity projects. They also had the cheek to advertise for an unpaid role as a Media officer to do 10 hours for free/week. Can’t even pay minimum wage apparently. Baffling amount of money, especially considering the state of our squad. Corr the “1st team analyst” and scout.....and the guys we identified included Mcguffie, brad McKay, Wilson, ompreon, hetherington?? Not fit for purpose.

Just a guess but don’t think it can be far off from what has been mentioned on here. Just checked Google and there are a few positions I forgot to add though some may be voluntary/part time. We also fork out £70k/year to Sandy Alexander for rent.

Ompreon most likely came from Grainger and Wilson came from Sheerin as he played a blinder against his Aberdeen u20's in a closed doors game last year apparently. 16 new signings this summer so we can't complain about investment in the first team. We can however complain about the quality of some of those 16 players which mostly falls on Holt's shoulders. We've signed shite in Mckay, Hall, Hetherington and Wilson then very average players in Ross, Mcguffie and Ompreon. McKenzie, C.Williamson and Weekes were supposed to be development players yet take up positions within the squad. They aren’t additional too as they form part of the size of squad Sheerin stated he was after. Seb Ross and Wilson should be on low wages too judging from their previous playing history. Nesbit was let go by Morton and R.Williamson by Partick so although they’ll probably be one of the bigger earners, I can’t imagine they will be on loads. Other than a few players, I don’t look at that squad and think there’s been a lot invested in it.
