Good start, sounds as if Holt's got his man he talked about in his first interview. 16-20 is a good bracket to start up with as there'll be a fair few youngsters getting released at that age from other youth academies. Just need to do the business on the park now this season.

Not familiar with him but his record looks promising. Every club he has been at in Scotland has at least some decent record of youth development.

Glad to see we are focusing on the 16-20 age bracket and not wasting our time babysitting children. Leave kids football to the established boys clubs.

From what I know he is a good lad and a good coach. A foot back on the ladder. Long way to go though

4 - 6 years till we see a payback minimum.

That is hopefully selling a 20-21 year old gem for a few million.

Got to be a long term investment and not the first target for any cost cutting

Great news indeed.

“Falkirk has had an excellent reputation and track record for youth development and this latest appointment is an important step in building a new system that gives young and talented players a future pathway into the Falkirk first-team.”

You wonder if MR & SA (and  lifelong fan ML for that matter) are embarrassed about this statement since they signed off on the destruction of the previous youth system. I wonder if we will ever get an apology.

Anyway moving onwards , a very positive first step back on the journey to getting our own youth players our football infrastructure, & our identity back. Good stuff!

I wouldn't have thought so.

Clubs have until 23rd April to complete the 18 fixtures, most have 1 free slot (Thursday 22nd) left.

Saturday 24th April earmarked for the SC 5th round ties.

Clubs then have until 6th May to complete the further 4 fixtures (play-offs start Saturday 8th May).

So a L1 team could make it to the SC 5th round, then play Tues - Thurs - Sat - Tues and complete all fixtures before the deadline.

So basically we need to win on Saturday then get the players to drive straight to covid hotbed Clackmannanshire and start licking door handles?

Would a league one club winning their cup tie this weekend fuk up the 22 league season ?
I'm guessing the further 4 league games would be played during next cup round
There are 5 teams in each half after the split which means every team will have a free date. If a team is still in the Scottish Cup then the QF date can be their free date in the league.

The only issue would be if two League 1 teams in the same half of the table ended up getting through (eg Forfar and Clyde both getting through and both being in the bottom 5) - if that happened they obviously couldn't both use the free date for the cup game.
