We pay more renting that stand than Livingston pay WLC for their whole stadium. Great deal that

Council own the 4 story office complex.

FFC own the rest.

Whole facility run by the Community Stadium Company where Council & FFC are shareholders, it has never made a profit.

Not a better time financially to buy out the council but the surrounding land would have to be in the deal as well. However is there a market for that type of office space ?

FFC would once again own their stadium outright. Therefore you have a asset to secure borrowing if required.

Stadium design was flawed from the start. Should have been 4 smaller stands with fewer rows of seats at a steeper angle the fans would have be closer to the action and have a better atmosphere.

Soulless barn of a place.

Sandy Alexander owns the south stand , he would have to agree to sell that part of the stadium as well. Not just the council, there are 3 parties involved in ownership of the stadium. SA, the club and the council.

FFC own the stand as far as the community stadium are concerned. The arrangement between Alexander and FFC must be  some arrangement between the two parties.

Contacted the Community Stadium to ask who owns what since they would know considering they run the facility.

Original post was what they told me.

The Council may well need the undeveloped office space given that the Municipal Buildings are literally falling down.

We don't own anything. We only have a long term lease. The stadium company is purely owned by the council and has nothing to do with falkirkfc. Everything is explained in Martin Ritchie's book.

Crunchie            vaulks                sibbs

Lee Miller top XI that he's played with. Was never a big fan of ferguson but that's a cracking team.

Apart from the fact sibbs doesn't have the pace to be a winger.  Hagi for me.

Not according to the Community Stadium Company. Joint venture by by the Council & FFC.

Suggest Martin Ritchie is wrong

He's one of the folk that was involved in the whole thing.  Their own website clearly states.   The Falkirk Community Stadium is operated and managed by Falkirk Community Stadium Ltd (FCSL), a wholly owned subsidiary of Falkirk Council.

If they can't get that bit right them I'm not sure I'd trust anything else some office punter says about who owns what.

From Martin Ritchie's book ' the club was given 175 year leases  at no cost on the land for the pitch, the north and south stand and an area of land to the east of the main pitch. It also had rent free leases on all the football facilities in the west stand , access to the hospitality areas on match days and specific access rules for the car park'.

Like shadwell, I'm reading MR's book. I can't help but think the stadium could've been a fantastic money making asset but always compromising with the council and never having enough cash to go our own way seriously hampered us.

On another note did anyone else get update letter from the club, including chance to buy more shares (minimum spend only £400!!) I might buy some more shares, need to have a wee think about it.

Council were more interested in developing areas that would solely make them cash and we ended up with absolutely nothing getting developed down in that area at all. The sheer incompetence of the council whenever any chance of development around the stadium came up this initially being stadium city who got fed up and gave up is quite incredible.
