They said they ‘cannot commit to us restarting with the virus levels as they are’. So why on earth if it’s so dangerous are the top two leagues still playing? We were playing when virus levels were much higher than what they are now. Hang on ! there is the equiv of a supporters bus crash with all killed per day. FFC are playing in a minor league with part time players. That is the reality and we are where we are because we deserve to be there. Happy to wait ! knowing there will be people watching football from whatever club they support next season because of it.
roman_bairn
Genuinely can anyone think of a reason why the part time teams in the championship can continue with testing but in the two leagues below part time teams can't?This is all down to TV deal money and nothing else. To be devil’s advocate,I can.The one message that the SG do not want to be putting out just now is one that allows people to think they can start to relax things at a time when the numbers are still high.Blame here is with Celtic and the football authorities in this country that we stopped playing. No one else... -

They played right into the government's hands by shutting us down in the first place. Did they honestly think it would be their shout whenever they wanted us back? Shadwell Dog
We had the chance to push for change in these clowns that run our game earlier this year and some clubs stood up to the mark but the majority just pandered to them as usual. Those complaining now if your club didn't back the vote of no confidence in Doncaster and co then it's your own feckin fault your team isn't playing the now. SFA|SPFL know they can literally do whatever they fancy. Who is the SFA Vice President? Yes the owner of the team that sits bottom of the Championship with eight points so far. An abhorrent fraudulent bent and corrupt organisation, stinking from top to bottom. Mulraney getting exactly what he wanted. A slight cull of all teams unfortunate enough to be in leagues below his. Meanwhile his team play, get 500k free money, incomes from live streaming games v Hearts, Dunfermline etc. Oh, a wee minor hiccup the last few weeks where all teams banded together and said they'd put in place the exact same procedures that his club have? No problem, Government have come along from nowhere, despite it not being them to shut us down, to say we can't restart. He must be absolutely p1ssing himself. Corrupt to their core.
Newbornbairn
Alloa will make more money because of Covid than they could have dreamed without. Same for Arbroath, QotS et al.

Reggie Perrin
Mulraney might be a devious arsehole but I wish he was our devious arsehole. Playing the system like a fiddle whilst our lot bend over and take it dry as usual.
Ranaldo Bairn
Exactly. And everyone crying about Doncaster and co when the SPFL board wanted the power to make executive decisions should they be required. The clubs said no, so we can look forward to another spring of cats in a sack fighting and wails of "self interest!!"

If you want to look at the SPFL board have a look at the reps for L1&L2 you have the chairman of Brechin and chairman of Clyde. I imagine it would suit them to call the league's, especially if it meant no relegation from L2. However I doubt it's a conspiracy especially if Alloa are meant to be at the heart of it. If Falkirk didn't put someone forward then more fool them.
roman_bairn
Did you really expect anything more from the Scottish Government ?? The reality is it’s been one f**k-up after another. But difficult to make a strong case when you look at today’s numbers: -

BountyBairn
New cases will be under 500 per day by end of month, just need to wait and see if that means games can get back on for the wee teams like us. Usual shite from the ‘authorities’ - not surprised at all. Edited February 9, 2021 by BountyBairn
