Exactly. We still badly need some bodies if you ask me. A fullback that can play either side would be useful as if dixon got injured first game your then relying on a young totally untested boy to play the rest of the season which is asking a hell of a lot.

If that does happen though we would then I’d imagine go and try bring a left-back in on a short term loan deal. We’ve already got 19 signed first team players with you’ve got to imagine at least another ‘keeper and centre-back to come in. So that leaves 3 sat in the stand when everyone is available and considering we don’t have a reserve or unders team we really don’t need and probably can’t afford to have many more bodies than that. Sure we’ve got some players who are only jersey fillers (Leitch, Laverty, Telfer, Sammon) but as long a they’re here and taking a wage will need to be used at some point.

Some options out wide would be useful too.  Lot may depend on whether this share buyout by local businessmen and gow gets passed . They hopefully realise that to have a decent youth pathway it's imperative we get out of league one and back into the championship.

I would say its more a case of to have a youth academy to keep things going we cant rely season after season on journeymen with no saleable value least if we can bring our own players on and move them on for a fee as lets face it the "Brentford model" wasn't exactly a roaring success in fact it fell on its arse when the first ball was kicked.

Comms Officer job advert is up. Hope that doesn't mean Connor Park is moving on?

I think he's the manager and the position reads as if they'll report to him so I think he's still there. Could be wrong though.

Position states it will report into the commercial director, which is Kieran Koszary

Yes but to get a better quality of young talent you really need to be in the championship or higher. When clubs are looking at youngsters the chances of then choosing a league one club are few and far between.

Hmmmm........that sounds familiar.

Margaret Lang's big calculator has worked out it will cost 20Million a year to run in today's money.

We've spemt the past 2 seasons paying players to get away from the club, I mean could you see any club paying us a fee for any of the journeymen McManus apart but then he was never ours anyway.

I don't really think us being in league 1 hinders us that much as we're still a big fish just in an even smaller pond and the promise of regular first team football is really the driver.

Our scouting a recruitment system has been absolutely gash for quite a while now which is why we've not been signing the right types of players. We've made lazy signings for too long. I hope that with Gow coming in we start having people, if we don't already, religiously watching u21, u19 youth games to see where we can pick up players that are coming out of contract and have potential.

Recruitment is inevitably the difference between a successful club and an unsuccessful club as you can have the best managers in the world but if you sign absolute duds you're not going to go anywhere. I like the signings we've made this season so hopefully times are changing.

It’s unlikely but it is possible. Look at Kevin Nisbet for example 2 years ago he was a jobber that looked like he was on his to the juniors. 2 seasons later he made Raith money (albeit not a lot due to a clause in his contract), made Dunfermline money and if he keeps his form he’ll do the same with Hibs. We’ve got Dowds and Keena afaik signed up on 2 year deals. Either one scores 20 goals this season and we’re selling them on for a decent sum next summer.

Aside from that unlikely but potential scenario the only other player we’ve got that could make us money would be Robbie Mutch.

Sneddon as well, before he went to Camelon he had offers from Hibs academy and a few others but decided to go to Camelon, but need to see him in action first but on potential its a possible.

Fantastic job. You get paid to let the volunteers do your work for you.

By volunteers I suspect it refers primarily to Falkirk TV and photography, both of which are somewhat specialised. At the moment CP has a couple of university students helping him out with things like midweek videos, former player interviews, commercial stories etc. He needed assistance because he's heavily involved in the football side of the club as well and gets pulled in a hundred different directions.

Hopefully we'll see a few Rangers loans coming our way then if he really is good pals with Ross Wilson. Where's the guy that quoted Kai Kennedy coming to us on loan, I'd like to apologise for laughing at your rumour.
